Welcome to Reality's End. This site is devoted to the many things that are my interests (screw whatever you like), the games I make from time to time, and some community writing efforts. Most things here are phantasy and scifi, so if that isn't your cup of tea, then you are at the wrong place, friend.
Dream Land Java Dev Log (Nov 17, 2009 22:22)Recorded Sessions: One of the best known morals of the Dream Land Java Project was to create games that can be played right inside your browser -- "no" downloads necessary. (At least, no executables or security threats.) The reason for this is simple: people are less want to play something they have to be wary of. Take the risk out of ...

Did you know I have been moonlighting at another site? The pay sucks/is non-existant, but... um.... aw man, I've really messed up! It is Kirby's Rainbow Resort, a place that was beyond stoneage despite being about as old as this joint. Most of my time this summer has been sunk into that place, so I have not technically been lazy at all! |
Wow, was it a year ago when Bimblesnaff splintered Key of Ages? For those of you unfamiliar with my attempt to create a canon Battling Dragons story, it suffered the same problems a lot of larger, older stories do. For those of you unfamiliar with writing splinters, it means the same story that has been written since March '06 has essentially become an entirely different tale, sharing only the very beginning with its predecessor. Anyone interested in writing should check it out. Not like you can mess it up any more than the original, and hey, if you do, there can always be a third splinter. |

This was originally scheduled to be the summer-smash hit until the ubiquitous stuff happened. Oh, that wacky anniversary RE curse~! This is still comin' out, tho', even if a li'l delayed. After all, if it is one thing that RE does time and time again, it's make games that'll ultimately be ignored~! |
It seems that the BD Race Around the World will be making a triumphant return, only this time, it entirely encompasses Bonus Creatures. Throw the standards out the window; I'll let a lot slide for Bonus Monsters. This may be just the sort of stepping stone you need to start your artistic career here on RE. |

- Sunday, the 28th
- Welp, I mentioned my new Perl embedding language, and now I'm gonna start using it, dag-nabbit! I've fixed up some of the pages that used SSI for non-layout purposes, which is horrendous for so many reasons. For example, this index no longer uses JavaScript to display the news items to the left.
- Friday, the 29th
- Not dead; just jobless -- and for far too long at that. Desperately trying not to be jobless delayed other planned updates, so instead, you get another sendover to KRR with its Next-In-Line collaborative fiction writer. And yes, that is the third or fifth (depending on how you count) IAS program I've made.
There was also, like, an embedded Perl interpreter I made to replace the SSI on this site, but you don't care about that, right?
- Saturday, Boxing Day
- Be proud, you crazy Cannucks. For the first time ever since long promised, Reality's End is celebrating Boxing Day in addition to the Christmas giveaway, which means all of the leftovers will be given away in droves!
- Tuesday, the 17th
- It is a dark, dark day for Reality's End... which makes its first upload to a YouTube channel featuring video capture of this site's software. A user uploading user-generated content? That's not what YouTube is about! Bring on low-quality TV broken into tiny and annoying chunks~!
- Tuesday, the 3rd
- Already on a better roll than last month (or year, even~!), today marks the release of Tuesday Knight Titans, the next installment of the Dream Land Java game series! I promise never to have this much of a delay in releases again. Mostly 'cause I'll never promise when something will come out again.
