Woo-hoo, the new version is up.
But alas, my general is terribly lonesome. I'm pretty sure that I didn't see any way to recruit troops. So how are we to go about it, oh minty one?

You can recruit troops when you march on an area. As far as I can tell all the areas have a reasonable range of troops to recruit. Not sure if there's anyway to check though short of actually marching on the area.

Thanks. Seeing as I'm not reckless enough [today] to attempt a march with only one soldier... That would definitely explain my questioning.
I'm sure there's some sort of pattern to which troops are found in which places.
Marching time.
We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year.

Yeah, that originally stated on the main page. However, come the update and the shift from Main Page beta to Main Page release, the update was changed. One of those, "Whoops!" moments, I guess.

When you march with one, you can recruit 9 others from the area you're invading so you invade with a full 10.

Well, that's just sayin' in confusingly. You can't march with one and then recruit; you have to recruit before finalizing the march. That one troop isn't what you were marching with -- that was just your entire army at the time, being your general.
At any point in time whenever you attack or are attacked, you can recruit just-in-time styles. You can bring any of your troops who can travel, if you so wish. This wouldn't be so hard if everyone wasn't expecting the collection system.
So you are marching with ten troops still, not one: just recruiting nine and sending one already owned monsta.
And the main page message change wasn't from the beta shift; it was changed to notify people of an error since no one felt it was pertinent to notify me. Loverly blokes RE folk are.

Well, I'm not sure if this is an error, or just me not reading the screens enough. Just then, I went to defend Wroksoph against Lugiatrainer. It asked me to pick a leader (since my general is attacking elsewhere) from the new recruits I selected, which I did, and placed it. Then, when I went into the 'battle' screen, only Lugiatrainer's leader was there; mine was still undeployed. I've feployed one monster since, and that worked OK...
Release that which was never caged.

Well, I'm not quite sure what any of that has to do with this topic, but way to make sure if anyone else has this issue that they'll know right where to go -- the bottom of some entirely unrelated thread!
All douche-baggery aside, yes, this does seem to be a legitimate error. * gives Zedd a virtual Cookie for the good work reportin' it unlike the other single instance found * I am going to guess this has to do with some changes I made very close to the release. It seems that a newly recruited monster acting as a leader is mis-indexed in the battle file and the battle file alone. Looks to be an easy fix.
