"Deep within the core of the planet live the reclusive wishmasters Visanmi. Their reality-bending powers are used only in times of great need, the most powerful of these magics costing the life of one of this rare species."
To make sure I don't waste this guy, I want to ask this: 1) Does it only die after you've used one of the specials you have to select, or does it die after the first battle you use it in, and 2) is the "loss of life" permanent like a death, or a knock out?
And, as a side note, if this is the ninth day of giving, why are there 12 of these monsters? Have they been given out before, or what?

No, that is from me debugging the handout and never reducing the count.
As for dying, Visanmi won't. The said "most powerful of these magics" are unusable in-game and only appear in the other games, typically the RPGS, and take on the form of a deus ex machina. If players were able to use this power, they could just say "win game now," and that ain't gonna happen.
It is just a bit of actual flavor text...

I have a question about Seranade. Does the spell range increase with level, and if so by how much? Reason being is that my Visanmi's special abilities are being blocked even though it's 3 spaces away...though the description of Seranade says only anything within two spaces will be blocked...or did that mean two-space radius?
I apologize in advance if this has been previously answered.

Don't know what this has to do with Vis, but two squares means two squares in any direction. The powers make boxes. No, it does not change or increase with time. If it did, 'twould be noted.
"Radius" typically means roundness is implied, although that usually looks more like a diamond shape when rendered on a grid.
