Mint,
I was winning my match in Bakk, Today was the last day of the battle. My opponent had one move left as did I and I was up by 3 tiles. I log in just now to find out I have lost. Not trying to be a bother but not sure how I lost that one. Does the battle extender only go so many times?

Similar thing happened with me as I logged in just now. I lost Whitefields when I had a two-tile lead, and my opponent had already deployed all 10 troops (no special ability packing ones).
Not sure if this has been mentioned before, but is there a difference between losing and conceding a battle? Like a difference in wound accumulation?

This sounds peculiarly similar to what happened to me at Purquis, when I was up in tiles and then Ben_star still won the battle.
It seems that the program only hands you a win if you are up by so many tiles, one would guess...or the Cheese Faerie of Doom has been released upon this website...

Dag-nabbit! Why do you people have to have problems? And why do you only have to report them when I have absolutely no way of fixing them?
The battle extender works infinitely, so that is not the cause. Whenever I get a complaint like this, I check the results log (which I made for an early complaint about this) to find out that the complainer was in fact lacking in tile account.
Your idea, Eagle, makes no sense. The greater-than operator does not require an excess amount; it is simply greater-than or not greater-than, and every case I have seen, it is greater than.
The only thing I can suspect is that some variable isn't getting set right somewhere. Thing is, I don't know which side would have this problem: the HTML version you guys use or the shell version the script runs on.
And, of course, there is absolutely no way to check it as I do not have internet access (that I can TTY from, at least).

Mint,
I am using ie 6.0.29, I have win xp service pack 2. Sorry to post the issue but thought you would want to know if there is an issue with the game. On a side note did you lose access to the interent?

I'm sure he's mentioned it somewhere on this site, be it update or post, but he went back to MA for his college-work program.
Going down there, he had to get an apartment. However, the apartment he wanted was currently occupied, so they stuck him in another one for a week or so. When in the temp room, he couldn't order his internet access, for he would be leaving shortly. Now in his more permenant stayings, he had the Memorial Day weekend to slow down his getting of internet access.
Thus far, he has been doing all his routine checks at his work, which, as you can imagine, he has to do sparingly.
Additionally, Ems is made of ol' sardine cans. He's mentioned that somewhere on the site before, too.

Is it at all possible that nothing strange happened at all. Maybe in each of these battles the extended 24 hours just slipped in between turns. For example at Bakk (it confused me as well when i saw the win message) maybe Lymfada had his turn which I responded to shortly after and then he went on later the next day which was after the 24 hour extended period. The fact that three separate people have had this problem suggests that it isn't people's computers and because it only has happened three times (that we know of) suggests that it isn't the site. Then again I don't know all that much about computers and the like.
I'd also like to apologize to everybody for any strange times in Shadow Aura, past, present and future. I live in Australia so after school for me is something like 3AM in America

'Course that could be the problem. However, when a new peice of coding is released (and not just on RE!), there are usually a few errors to go with it. I would assume that is why everyone is thinking that it's an error in the code. And an error doesn't necissarily have to affect a lot of people...
Of course, I'm probably wrong...

* spares Zedd and instead uses LandSmite on Lymfada * Of course I lost my internet access! Aside from what Gobbo spewed, the last sentence of my post in this topic was that I had lost my internet access.
Your browser has nothing to do with it. For most games and problems, it would, but TSC is entirely CGI (save the pretties of the interface), so if one person has it, everyone does.
Second, it cannot be a new update, 'cause I haven't changed the battle script since March.
Yeah, that long.
If anything, it is an old problem that some new activity is bringing to light a lot more. I am going to guess the shrinking number of retreats is forcing the final-day script to kick-in a lot more than it originally did.

Michael, the battle extender works in much the same way that battles normally work, in that extensions are made to the next day at the same time (12:01 am, I think). Although challenges may be accepted at different times of the day, the ending time stays the same. Only the actual day of ending changes due to the battle extender. (At least, that's how I think it works)
I always thought that messed up battles that I had may have had something to do with either the number of troops placed on the field by each side or the number of troops defeated. At least, that is the thought I have right now, so I'm trying to see if I can equalize the numbers for both sides in the rest of my battles. That way, only the number of tiles will be the difference.

Unless every troop has been defeated on one side, the number of defeated troops comes into play if the tile count ties.
The number of troops used has absolutely no effect whatsoever on victory. I can freakin' paste the code right here to prove it.
The battle extender does push the end time to the next midnight, yes. Midnight is the only time battles will ever end automatically. That is the time the program runs that cancels battles and challenges; I am not going to have it shooting off at all times of the day to cancel the ungodly amount of fights that go on.

Wait...can the problems be related to buggered pages displaying from cache?
By the way, it's been three days since either of my current opponents (Lymfada and Ben_star) have acted. My last battle against Ben_star, he was inactive the entire time, supposedly, but you say your log says he had a tile advantage...which means that my computer did not display that. Maybe Lym also has a tile advantage right now, 'cept that my comp is evil.

Hmmm - I seem to be having something (perhaps) akin to what you're describing. Every time I come onto RE, it shows the exact same view that it had the last time I was here - I have to refresh each time. Mebbe you should just try refreshing the page?

Tried that, and it doesn't help. By the way, I just cleared my Temporary Internet Files and tried again and it STILL says the same thing...probably not related to that, then.

Okay. Just wanted to toss that out in case that was it. The other thing I was going to suggest was checking how much of your hard drive you have allocated to cache space, but that probbly doesn't matter now...

Just like I said, this cannot be a local problem.
If it were the cache, placing a creature would have absolutely no effect on the numbers, and that would be noticeable (or at least I would hope so).
Moreover, post-submissions call for a refresh; it is get-submissions that cause a problem (unless you really suck... or your computer does).

Hey, if you want a really simplistic battle to try to debug from, check out the one between me and kirkbanks at the Fyns. I invaded on the 24th, he defends six days later on the 30th with a monster that takes fewer tiles than my leader, and wins without responding again. I checked it last at 11:40 EST (I forgot to check my troops until the day was nearly over) and he hadn't responded, and even if he did the battle should have been extended. And even if he did have more tiles, I should have taken the land due to inactivity in the first place. Don't mean to bog you down, but it's a glaring problem...
Here, take some kudos.
