Noticing her predicament, as attention was turned to her, the being known currently as "Frigida" decided to go completely out of her normal character and speak. There is, however, a very good reason for this being out of character.

As has been mentioned, the three beings spend most of their time in the background. However, what one may not notice is that in the background, there is no sound, other than background noise. Therefore, Frigida's experiences with speaking are somewhat limited, to say the least.

  * With the howl of a Wind evening, she speaks *

  "Haaassss sssaaeessiisssssaaass ooassiss."

As the party stares blankly at her, Frigida realizes there is a problem. But from problems come solutions. As is the case here. * Reaching out in the air, Frigida fabricates a FrostStaff * Grasping the FrostStaff expertly, Frigida begins to draw complex symbols on the head of the staff. In each place where she drew, there grew a small ice clump. After she was finished with the initiation, Frigida pointed the bottom tip of the staff at Kero's feet, five feet away from him. Slowly, she moved the staff back towards herself, then stopped and reversed the action until she was back at the starting place. However, in the path on the ground where the staff was pointing, there was now a thin layer of ice.

Realizing that he was being picked out, the rest of the party backed away from Kero.

"What is it that you mean to say by separating me from the others?"

Moving the staff slowly, a pattern appeared on the earth. An arrow, pointing to Kero. A crude circle, appearing very much to be a Koffing, due to the flat edges sticking out. A stick figure with arms reached towards the ThornWhip which was now resting at her feet. Pointing away from Kero, a much more cryptic symbol appeared. two parallel lines next to her tree, and then a line separate but perpendicular to them.

Having finished communicating, Frigida tapped the earth three times with her staff and faded into the background, while taking the ThornWhip and FrostStaff with her. The items can be seen as a somewhat of a sparkle in the air, but as of yet appear to be unattainable.

OOC: Er, Kero doesn't have any appearences in this post, last I checked... And stop putting *'s around things that aren't real FtRPG post actions. That's very distracting from what should be easy-flowing reads. Serious. And, boyachi, it took you over 12 minutes to write that little post???

"And skewed," noted Lee. Looking down, the goblin found the "helping" halberd of Dracon sticking threw his torso.
"Okay, really," he noted before collapsing, "what do you think I had this claymore for? Looks?"

"There is only one thing we can do," Kero, who appeared from seemingly no where, stated. He reached deep inside his surcoat and produced a steely black six-shooter with engraved on the side the word "Momento." Never bothering even to look up at his targets, he quickly emptied all rounds into the icy advesaries.
  a
"You just killed them!" exclaimed Leander, not quite understanding the reason behind his actions.

"No," he replied, "not yet." Then, he turned to the living members of the party. With one dark eye toward them, he ordered, "Run."

Leander did not question why. He lifted Dracon onto his back and tied a rope around the goblin's corpse to be dragged by his wyrm. After quite a distance, he turned to see what is was the minty one planned, not hearing any sounds of battle. The only thing to be witnessed were a pair of growing, dark wings. Knowing what an omen such pinions meant, he hastened only more. They were signs of the envy dragon Nidhogg, denizen of Hel, a monster so fearsome that it is said that it will command the legions of the dead at Ragnarok. It was fueled by the essence of the cruelest souls, which it returned in full force to its foes.

After standing the force of Hel itself, no thing would be left, living or otherwise. The pained screams were more than audible to Lee -- although quite some distance away now -- not from the unfortunate victims, but the remnant voices from the anguish of souls that is the devastating Shadow Blast....

OOC: *cough* Sorry, a few things which appear to be different than what was taken as and will likely change the story so I'm just saying them now to explain my original post. For one thing, I accidentally called Mints "Kero" due to his Azure sn being KeroKato and thus I always think of him as that first, even when it's not the case. Sorry for the confusion. Secondly, wtf are the "icy adversaries"? All Frigida was doing was drawing with ice on the ground. Think white spray paint on the ground.

"Aaaah!" screamed a voice, shortly followed by a hiss/roar. Dracon and leander turned to find the source of the scream to see a young man with a sword, followed by a tatzelwurm stalker, whom was followed by the black explosion of the shadow blast. The explosion shrunk, but the figure kept running for a bit and then noticed the group.

"What the hell was that!?" he screamed.
"The shadow blast from Kero's Nidhogg." replied a shaken up Dracon.
  "Who's Kero?" asked the character.
"That guy" said Leander, pointing in the direction of a man in a blue coat. Above him flew a dragon, likely the nidhogg.
"I believe this is yours" he said, giving Dracon the thornwhip. "See you later" he said and was swooped up by his nidhogg.
"Umm... hi. My name's Rook, and this is Koumori" Koumori was fighting with Shrecken."Koumori!"shouted Rook, and the tatzelwurm slithered behind its master. "I was walking through the woods when the whole thing happened. What's your story?" he asked.

"I'm Dracon and I'm looking for my Hydra, who was stolen by a gang of thugs. This is Leander, who's helping me."

"Stolen? That's horrible! I wouldn't want that to happen to my Koumori! Do you need any help? 'Cause I want to stop these creeps before they get any more victims!"

"Well, we are down a man, err... goblin. Are you a good fighter?"

  "Yes."

"Okay, I suppose you can come along, but it will be dangerous. You sure?"

"Yes. I don't want this to happen to Koumori, so I want to get them before they get me"

"Alright, then. It's settled. You can come."

"Why not," suggested Leander. "I doubt more help will hinder us."

"Besides, 'tis time for my departure, it'd seem," the fiendish one noted. "I don't think I'd be of much help with this weapon through my chest. Well, unless you wanted to hang something... on a bloody spike. Oh well, it seems like I can be traded for this new fellow and the shopee, assuming he's over his little temper tantrum!" * With a flick of the wrist, gives Rook a virtual GoldLeaf * "At least this new guy seems to be able to handle himself."

"Temper tantrum?" The shoppe keep protested, "You beat me up and stole from me? Not to mention the harsh treatment you did upon my egg! And I just gave that to you!"

"Oh, now, I don't remember that happening," dismissed the goblin.

  "But you-"

"No time for that!" he cut in. "I have to be off to get this thing removed. Onward, Schrecken!" Biting onto the metal pole, the alpine wyrm dived into the earth, and both vanished.

"Hey! My halberd!" whined Dracon. The pole arm was launched up through the ground into the air, plummeting down towards him. "Oh..." The weapon was deflected at the last minute by an orange streak. The lance protruding from the earth, a strange beast perched upon it.

"My master sent me to keep on eye on you all," Kaze Musha told, "but, heed my word, I would have let this pierce your form if he had not asked." As quickly as she appeared, the Kamaitachi vanished.

"Hurray!" cheered Rook. "We have a slightly vengeful monster watching our backs!" The others did not see his enthusiasm. "Er, so, where exactly are these Akilokipok guys hiding at?"

OOC: Wow, Ice, you really did not learn anything from your additions to this story being smoked, did you?

See, it is not the fact that you put Kero into the story, it is the fact that you addressed a character that never existed in the story. An author can post in a story without adding themself to it; it is usually a good idea, too, to keep the character amount down. Kero, Mint, Geirrek, Gudrun's Incitement 18, the Apothecary, the Blue Clad Vagrant -- none of them were ever in this post... ever! Well, until you for some reason added it. That is what we call in the interactive story biz a huge freakin' plot hole.
Not to mention your background characters -- the Hel is the point of adding characters to an interactive post if no one is to interact with them? Worthless'd! That does not even begin to mention their entire lack of anything to do with the primary point of this story and its BD-basis.

BIC: "We could ask those agents they sent," informed the peddler.

  "Agents?" asked Rook. "Which agents?"

"Those agents that were just obliterated back there," explained he. "... oh yeah."

"Just perfect," Dracon grunted, the poison having ran its course. "Our only real lead to Aki's whereabouts have had their very being erased from existance."

"So... there is no way that we can find them?" Leander said, half-questioning.

"No," responded he, taking hold of his halberd once more, "there is still a way, but it is the messy way."

The tavern door flew apart from the mighty, cleaving blow, sending one half crashing into a table and the other swinging from the hinges. Few scattered rays of dwindling sunlight penetrated from behind the dragoon and into the dank den of the villians.
Breaking the window and most the wall surrounding it, a fully enraged Orm loomed, inciting panic among the patrons.

"Someone in here knows something," Dracon stated with a dark ring to his voice. He took to arms his shining, freshly whetted pole axe, poised to strike. "Time to get our hands dirty."

In a corner of the tavern stood a cloaked man. When the strange party burst through the door and started interrogating the patrons of the tavern, he seemed almost totally unaffected. Dracon saw him, walked up to him and pointed a halberd at his thoat, saying:
"do you know where the Akilokipok's hideout is?"
  He nodded.
  "WHERE!?" screamed Dracon.
"Whether I can tell you depends on why you need the information", said the man, clearly unintimidated by the vicious pole-arm.
  "TEL..." began Dracon...
"If you wish to join them, I can't tell you. In fact, I would probably have to kill you." interrupted the man.
"Sorry, but you don't lookto be in any situation to kill anyone", observed the shope keep, pointing to the halberd.
"But we don't want to join them. We want to get my Hydra back!" Yelled Dracon, poking the man with the halberd, causing a trickle of blood to run down his neck. He went to do it again, but found his hybrid spear-axe pointing at the blank wall. He looked around, then felt a tap on his shoulder.
"What th..." he said, wheeling around.
"I'll show you the hideout. My name is Zedd. I have... buisness of my own with the Akilokipok, so if I could join your... err... slightly mis-matched group for a while, it would be most appreciated." said the recently proclaimed Zedd.
"Was your familiar pinched too?" Asked Leander
"Dai-sho? no, he's here", replied Zedd
"Well... first tell us where the hideout is" said dracon
"It's just behind you", said Zedd, pointing to an opening in the floor, where numerous heavily armed and armoured warriors were climbing out. Zedd drew a katana from an unseen sheath on his back, and a wakizashi from one hanging behind his waist.
"looks like we have company, though"...

OOC: Dude, the goblin not only left the scene, but that halberd's been out of him for some time. Yeah. Not to worry, I'll cover...
  BIC:
Dracon, the others, and the new addition were quick to take action against the aggressors. They were all human this time, not like the "interrogated" ruffian the weapon had to be dislodged from. There was no pairing off of lone skirmishes or order to the battle, just an outright clash of steel.

Catching the men on his braced pole arm, Dracon not only stopped the charge dead but pushed the humanoid stream back in their tracks, crushing the few unfortunate in the front between the rest of the line. Having halted their advance, he dropped the spear-ax in exchange for his Thorn Whip, which broke in two the weapons it snagged, or limbs.

Assisting him, with his dual blades drawn, Zedd swiftly cut a line through their ranks, striking vehemently, spraying a red shower into the air. Leander followed through the break with his wicked blade, spilling blood and entrails alike while avoiding damage to his fineries. Rook did likewise, following the carnal trail with his sword, only seemingly catching all that was spilled on his person. The keeper brandished an impressive weapon as well, but did no where near as impressive of a job handling it. Therefore, he thought it best to stay near and "help" Dracon.

While their masters took the front, Orm and Koumori, momentarily setting aside personal conflict, revealed their true forms and bound into the heart of the mod to terrorize the unexpecting. Meanwhile, Dai-sho slank between the crowd's legs, gashing and snapping tendons, sending many to the floor.

The tavern's occupants had cleared out early in the fight's start. Any foolish not to do so in an attempt to assist the Akilokipok thugs usually found end in a strayed swing. The battle waged for some time, the flow of hapless minions never seemed to stop, and the warriors were growing tired, cut, and bruised. When slitting someone's neck, Rook thought he spied a familiar familiar lounging on the bar's top, finishing someone's abandoned mead.

"Kazaa Moosa?" he guessed in a pant. "How long have you been there?" The sickled beast cast a glare in his direction, slightly annoyed. "Whatever. How about a little assistance?"

Kaze Musha squeaked, "Just give me a moment." Stretching out her body, in a blink, she vanished. Then, as though uttered by one omniscient presence, the thugs of Akilokipok grunted a short exasperation. Their torsos, all of their torsos, disjoined from their abdomens and were lifted by a swirling wind. The party of six were thrown out from the rising cyclone as the myriad of halves was reduced to a smaller fraction. Repetitively. The whirlwind slowed, and the pieces of former men scattered about the floor.

"You could have done that at any time, couldn't you," questioned Leander when she reappeared, "and didn't?"

"No one asked," she smirked, and bolted out the busted door in a mighty gale. The shop keeper, squishing corpse at every step unable to avoid it, stepped to the corridor the men had poured from.

"It's empty now," he stated, peering down. "... I guess we go inside now?" He looked about at the magnitude of cadavers that littered the floor. "Gee, and that was just what they greeted visitors with," he noted flatly. "I can't imagine what joys lie inside..."

"There are no joys in there" Zedd stated, while cleaning his blades on a curtain. "only evils."
"That was sarcasm, you know" clarified the Shop-Keeper.
"I think he was just trying to make a point" said a voice from the floor. the shoppe keepe looked down, and saw Dai-Sho cleaning his own blades on the bottom of that same curtain.
"So, is everyone ready?" asked Dracon, who had just finished whetting his halberd, and seeing that his Thorn Whip wasn't damaged.
"it would seem that way" replied Zedd, looking at the assembled party.
"Has everyone tended to their equipment"
"Yes," said Leander, doing a quick count-up on his fingers. "that's all been taken care of."
"Then let's get moving" said Dracon.
"Be not so eager to enter this lair, For inside it lie many great dangers." advised Zedd "I have entered it but once before, and I will only endure this second time because I wish to... Settle a score with one of it's members...."
"Not to mention finding Dracon's Hydra" ventured Rook
"I will aid in that too..."
"Enough chatter" Dracon interrupted, "Let's move!"
And with that, the party entered the dark hole...

"If you could see your own face, I'd be worried."commented Rook.

Zedd could be heard to mutter "Nice work, Randir. Now look what you have got us into..."
"NICE work? and who's this Randir?" Said the shopkeeper, in retailiation.
"No time for that argument now!" intercepted Dracon, lowering his halberd to take the charge of the enemy.
"Sounds to be about ten of them." Stated Zedd
"This corridor can hold... four abreast? Not enough room for all of us" mused Leander
"No problem" was the reply, coming from Zedd. "Dai-sho and I can get behind them. Then we take two each."
"Two of THOSE?" Exclaimed the shopkeeper, finally able to see their adversary. "They look less human and more... Ogre, or Troll, or... Something"
"Let's hope it's not the regenerating kind..." said Dracon, readying himself. Before the Dragoon could gut the troll, though, Leander pulled out one of his spearhead-spikes, and Zedd a shuriken (of the 'spike' variety), and they both hurled them at the incoming troll. It fell dead, with Leander's spearhead in it's chest and Zedd's spike in it's throat.
"Where are the others?" asked Rook
"Coming right at us!" Zedd cried
  "Ready yourselves!" yelled Dracon

Reaching into his pockets, the Shoppe-keep pulled out his custom claw hands and chucked a stale biscut at the first creature's head, then came in with a low jab in the creatures pelvis, followed by a left slashing uppercut, ripping the creature open. Then spinning, he caught the other abomination in the stomach followed by a backhand claw to it's face.
Finished, the shoppe-keep wiped his blades and hands on his stain-defending pants, then backed up, waiting for anymore action coming his way.

"Well, this sure is unexpectantly easy," Leander stated, cutting throats.

"After that endless legion of henchman, these guys really aren't to threatening," agreed Rook, pulling his blade out from a stack of impaled troll-things.

"Maybe they just let security slip after the first hidden door," rationed Zedd, spinning through the air with severed limbs flying in his wake. "It's not likely that anyone would ever discover the corridor in the first place, let alone survive that mad gaggle of ruffians. So there perimeter was probably tougher than most anywhere until the very heart of their base is reached."

"And they don't taste nearly as well as the last lot of them. Blech."

"For once, Orm, I concur," Koumori concurred, retching up a chunk of gnawed flesh.

"You fools, you are not suppose to eat them!" Dai-sho instructed them. "Just tear off a piece, spit it out, and repeat. We don't want to spend all day with these guys."

With a drop of his halberd, Dracon declared, "That's the last of them," cleaving the brute's head in twine. "I wonder if they have anything more worthy of our skill further in."

"No, don't say that," the shoppe keep warned. "You'll jinx our luck!" After those words, the earth trembled awefully. "Gods curse it! I'm blaming you for whatever that happens to be!"
