OOC: This is a search for Dracon's long lost Hydra, Stanley. Stanley was stolen by a bunch of thugs called the Akilokipok gang. A ruthless gang that steals people's Battling Dragon familiars and uses them against their owners. Anybody can join and help me.

BIC: Dracon woke early that morning in his tent, the sun beating down upon him. To his surprise Stanley was missing from his nest outside. "Stanley!" Dracon yelled and yelled for his beloved ceature but silence and his echoes were the only responses. There was a note in his nest.

   Akilokipok has struck again

Their was an "A" with a circle around it. Dracon burst into tears. "My...my..." He grabbed his Dragon Halberd and raced off to the villiage to find out who this Akilokipok people were.

OOC: In case you were wondering Akilokipok is Inuit for "It feels as if the great snow tiger of suckiness has come and raped my sister" Very true infact and eskimo means "Smell like fish" in german.

A slight wind picked up, dust blowing around the area, sticking to Dracon's tears. Coming with the wind was a stranger, slouched, hair dangling over a pair of spectacles. The young man stood about chin high to the dragoon, but it was apparent from his clutch on his dagger that he was just as much a warrior.

Leander looked up upon hearing the despaired cries, and nodded. "So, your familiar has been stolen? It must have been an incredible warrior to take on a monster like that." The young man adjusted his silk jacket, and looked at the symbol. He then looked up gravely. "I'll help you. This is the group that slew my first familiar, a Kamaitchi. Leander, shepherd turned warrior." He extended a hand, and waited for the dragoon to introduce himself.

OOC: Minty, would familiars go to their first forms while not in battle, like in the comics you drew?

Dracon nodded but he still had a firm grip on his weapon. "If we are to do this we need to go shopping for supplies and find what other weapons they might have. I need a Thorn Whip. I have to return this weapon to my Father. He lives in town not to far from here." He put away his halberd and proceeded to a weapon shop.

Lee's dagger was an unusual ordeal. Rather than narrowing to a point, it spread out into a series of alligned blades. It was quite clear that the weapon was intended for slashing attacks as opposed to stabbing.

"I shan't need to purchase anything. I have a good enough weapon, I should assume, and I have healing magic. We should be able to forage for any food that we need." Lee said, inspecting his gear.

"My, my, my," a ear bending voice cried out. "Don't think that's a good idea at all." Dracon and Leander were puzzled by the speech. With a thud, a small, deformed figure in tattered cloths and fuzzy hat dropped behind them, seemingly from nowhere. "I wouldn't listen to another word this 'gentleman' has to say, if I were you."

"Who," the Dracon began to ask, "who are you?" A misaligned smile grew behind his twisted lips.

"More of a friend than this guy is," the goblin replied. "Besides, my name isn't important. It's what I can offer that is."

Leander inquired, "Which would be ...?" The eyes on the fiend's fur cap suddenly opened as it spoke.

"Why, getting back at those Akilokipok dogs, of course." The two were startled by its... living. "What's wrong?" Schrecken asked. "Never seen a Tatzlwurm before?"

"Never one that looked like... that," spoke Leander with doubt. Schrecken's eyes slanted as lightning clashed above. At rapid pace, the wyrm's body grew several times in size until it became a long winding brute. With a whip of its tail, it accidently sent the shifty shoppe keep sailing into the distance.

"You stupid chimera!" the Ghobling scolded, reverting the giant beast back to its innocent prior form. "Oh well, no loss. That guy couldn't be trusted anyways. He's a dirty, no-good liar and thief."
  * With much sly guile, uses the technique Steal on boyachi's thornwhip with sneakingness *

The Dracon questioned, "So, that'd make you..."

"A dirty, no-good liar and thief with your best interests," he said with a devilish smirk. "Look, I got you what you wanted, so here me out. I hate those Akilokipok scum as much as you, if not more. If anyone's gonna be taken them on, I want in."

"Why do you hate them so much, exactly?" wondered Leander.

"Competition," squeaked an orange blur latched on to the young man's shoulder. With as much haste as it appeared, the strange creature slinked away.

"That wasn't helping, Kaze Musha," he screamed. "Who am I kidding? She's probably half way to the next kingdom by now..." He felt the uncertain gaze of the two warriors upon him. "What? Okay, so maybe my intentions aren't noble, and maybe I can't be trusted, and I enjoy the taste of innocent flesh-"

"Who doesn't!" Schrecken interrupted, leaping back upon his master's head.

"-but," he continued, ignoring his familiar's comment, "I am willing to help you at no cost, regardless of the consequences. What do you say?" Dracon considered the proposal for a while.

"You tried taking them on yourself, before, and got beat down hard, didn't you?" the Dragoon speculated.

"Got his ass handed to him!"

  "Schrecken!"

OOC: That thing about Lee not recognizing the appearance of Schrecken is sorta an inside joke. One that prolly only he or I would getIn fact, I bet he doesn't even remember it Nervous

"Well, aren't we a little impatient?" commented the goblin. "I was gonna give it to ya, geez." * gives Dracon the ThornWhip with no hesitation *

"Hey, what the-" stammered the dragoon, "This is just a piece of rope!" * Groaning, reluctantly gives dracon a ThornWhip with a lob *

"Looks like your gonna need it, too," the fiend tagged on, pointing behind the draconian. "Looks like troubles on the horizon. Heh. Guess word in these parts travels fast as a-"

"A man being thrown several hundred cubits from a tail lash?" Schrecken finished. It wasn't going to be the twisted one's choice of words, but it was acceptable. Peering out at the approaching band, Leander recognized one of them as the hurtled shoppe keep.

"You fop! Look what you've done," the warrior blamed. "Now, that seedy guy you popped is looking to get even with you, and he brought some muscle."

"Mussels? Really?" Gobbo questioned, peering out. "Look more like trolls than shellfish to me."

Ignoring his words, the warrior continued, "Well, we'll have no part of this. You're going to have to deal with this all on your own."

"What, I can't hear you that well. see you later," the green one's words trailed off as he dashed off into the distance.

"That jerk!" Dracon exclaimed. "Well, at least he doesn't have any beef with us." The old man pointed at him and called out.

"Hey, you! Think you can rough me up and steal my goods? I'll learn you for taking my Thorn Whip!"

Just keep an eye on yer times; you two were posting quite rapidly. Not real-time interactive, but still. If you guys start replying within in the minute, I am going to have some serious resource issues.

Edit: Oh, snap! Boggle Looks like Gobbo posted while I was writing my reply. Let's see if I can salvage this whole mess....

BIC: This whole ordeal was more than our heroes needed. Still, the A-Team was fast at work, never resting their far-reaching, dark grip on the countryside. Capturing monsters was not an easy process, and taming faithful familiars was not even an option; they had to be broken, and their minds eradicated.

Familiar beasts were much more powerful then their wild, mindless relatives. They have had an entire lifetime to grow stronger, and even possessed a fragment of their keeper's soul. Wild ones were unpredictable and violent, hardly even worth the trouble and damage they wreaked. Familiars, on the other hand, could be made to follow an unmeant master's every command -- with the proper enchantments -- because they did possess intelligence, although this very virtue did at time prove to be quite the downfall for the gang.

These monsters were fully aware of what was happening to them and, being stronger as they were, put the gang through Hel at every turn. The Aki retaliated by binding the beasts in every way, shackling their limbs and encasing their maws in layers of enhanced metals. Such brutal treatment of their acquisitions was of no matter to the group. Seperated from their destined keeper, familiars could not last long; the Akilokipok only needed the monsters to last through one mission from which they did not expect any to return.

All the more reason for our champions to hasten....

The young man wasted no time, and dashed at the vengeful merchant's party. He halted suddenly, pulling a spearlike point from within his jacket, and flinging it at a feral brute. The troll-esque monster fell, weapon sticking out from within his ribcage. He then dove, barely evading a nasty strike with a battle axe.

Lee rolled clear, and bounced to his feet, reaching for his pack. He pulled out a fur ball, and smiled ominously as his small Tatzel uncurled and began to grow a ripple with muscles...

Seeing the wandering party, a small group of three beings hide in the background, unable to be identified without being brought into the foreground. Their uncanny ability to blend in made them devisively difficult to hit, as well as restricting their full potential, lest they wished to be seen.

With a terrible roar, Orm's eyes sank into a blood red hue as it lost all control. With its massive almagamed paws, it began slicing large pieces from the trollish troop. In its wake, the silk-coated man stylishly finished off what his fearsome pet had started with his wicked weapon, slitting their throats in a number of interesting ways, yet not getting a drop of blood on his fine vestments.

Using his "acquired" new weapon, Dracon grappled a duo of brutes around the neck in the brammbled scourge, pulling it tighter till their heads rolled from their necks. Shortly, the vengeful shopee found himself standing amid a pool of foul blood with his jaw hung, silent.

"So," Leander put to the keep while cleaning his already spotless spectacles, "can we go?" The man only scowled, pulling back his darkening hood to reveal a shining brooch in guise of a monster.

"No," answered he, looking at Orm, "I don't think you shall, for two can play at this sport." Pulling the object from his neck, he held it up high. "Come forth, my beast!" At his command, the golden relic was granted life. Writhing back into life, the thing fell to the ground and grew to the shape of a . . .

(back track) Upon landing, the shop keep was surrounded by a mob of brutes. Thus he panicked, and the mob followed. After a few moments he stumbled upon the jerks that had stolen from and battered him.(flashback finished)
While still being pursued by the monsters, he found a goldleaf tree.
Sadly it was bare. When he got back up, the brutes were fighting with the two of the jerks. The third annoying one was running off in the distance. With not much to contribute, the shop keep sat down by a bush, pulled out a biscut to eat, and waited for the tree to bloom....
The biscut was absolute crap. The shop keep chucked it in a random direction.

OOC: No, we all know what a flashback is. However, what you did actually altered events that already happened. I mean, the trolls already all died, the shopee never sat by a tree, and he did command the trolls. That all was well established. I mean, I'm sorry if I ruined your character, but I thought 'twas an NPC and not your PC with how little he was described and what for. Still, tho', there had to be a millions ways you could have used what happened instead of horribly jumbling up events. Of course, not much of any of the posts seem to be in any sort of sense now and what for. What for I say!
By the by, mussel are little shelled things that cling to surfaces. The shop keep didn't have those. That was a pun. He had muscle with him.

  BIC:

"Stupendous," quoth the goblin. "You sure did strike fear into those already-killed trolls with your awe inspiring pose."

"I would question your return," snarled Dracon, "but I'm more conserned with the movement of these corpses."

"I got bored," the Ghobling responded. "Er, that is, I wanted to help you... fix the problem I started... That matter aside, I think it depends what type of troll your dealing with," the fiend commented. "For example, some can be nigh-immortal with regrowth of flesh while others have precious jewels in their belly."

"Well, judging by their hair color," Lee speculated, "and the fact that they are getting back to their feet, I would think we have treasure trolls on our hand." He shot a cold glance at the freak. "That was sarcasm." Thus, Gobbo shut his mouth. "So, what does prevent regeneration? Fire?" With a daemonic smile, a shadow loomed over the green bandit as the furred serpent's mouth poured embers.

"I think he can manage that," joked the goblin while Schrecken roared a torrent of flame from his mouth, laying waste to the trolls, leaving only their ash and bone. "That matter settled, what's that guy up to?" he said, in reference to the shoppe keep. The man stood cackling over a slowly growing spheric blob.

"I have no clue," Dracon admitted. "He just threw that thing down some time ago. We all thought it was gonna be come a monster of some kind, but it never did."

"You fools! This is my monster!" The amorhous orb ended its flux and settled as an... orb.

"It's... it's," stammered Leander, "an egg."

"An egg of an basilisk, you fools!" he insulted them. "Attack them, my pet! Make them pay!"

"How exactly," Gobbo began to question, "is an egg going to attack- oh, here it comes. Huh, learn something new every day."

Seeing the Basilisk egg, and recognizing it for what it was, one of the three beings decided that it was becoming bored. Fading into the foreground, the creature carefully chose its appearance to best blend in and mesh with the current group. It first formed a humanoid form, with a head, arms and legs, and a torso. It slowly then began to shift into a more defined form, taking a female shape. From the arms, it begins to slender out and form long, thin fingers. From the legs, it begins to tone and shape and forms small, nimble feet. Its chest expands outwards, stopping before the point of being absurdly huge but not before being rather larger than one would expect on a frame of her size. Long, shoulder length white and grey hair pours out of her head, stopping above her shoulders.

The being still chooses not to directly show itself, but does not prevent herself from being seen by the astute observer (because it would be a rather difficult feat to hide a nude female body in the middle of a forest.)

Seeing nobody else moving towards it, she uses the technique Steal on dracon's thornwhip  * in order to draw attention away from the shoppekeep ordering its Egg.

"No!" warned Leander, knowing full well what they faced, but it was too late. Dracon had already reached the arch of his mighty leap, and he was plummeting fast with is halberd set first.
It was a direct hit. The point knocked back the egg, unable to break its defenses, and stuck straight into the ground, soon joined by Dracon who has slid from the shaft of his weapon and was now prostate on the earth, entirely still.

The shopkeep let out a terrible bellow, more horrendous than laughter. "Fools! You cannot touch a Basilisk without feeling its venom; even such metals of your halberd conduct it!"

"Is that what you believe?" asked the goblin, revealing a most vile grin. "What about my monster?" The shopkeep gazed down to the small kitten, cowering behind its master. Only its trembling ears could be seen from out the fiend's legs.

"That?" haughtily he stated. "Even though only part of its blood, your serpent cannot fight its King!" He snorted. "Too afraid to even take on an egg?"

"Oh, but I was not referring to that monster," he implied, the smirk growing ever larger and devious. The keep surveyed the land, fearful of what mighty beast could be a match for his little tyrant.

"I," concluded the keep, "I do not see any other monster."

"Exactly." The egg's crown broke; the spire falling to the ground with a clean cut edge expose. Knick after knick dazzled the shell with no apparent source. At last, a blur momentarily formed above the egg with gleaming blades held out at its side. A great wind surround both, but only the basilisk was seen again when it cleared, speeding from the whirlwind directly at the shoppe keepe. Both were felled to the earth, unconsious.

"I know what you were hoping for," Leander informed, "but a keeper is as immune to his Basilisk's touch as your weasel."

"Aye," admitted he, "but that matter is finally settled. We can now turn to more pressing concerns."

  "Healing Dracon?"

"No!" snapped the green one, unsheathing a wicked, jagged claymore. He turned to the thought-hidden three and narrowed his gaze. "Getting back my thorn whip."

"Hey!" Dracon was strong enough to complain.
