Eyes opened to a black stretch of sky. A sore, strained body twitched on rocky ground, pulling in random directions until a sense of control could be regained. Slowly stand, the landscape was surveyed: barren, grey, and craggy, a desolate wasteland. The dim silence was only interrupted by a light whistle from the gentle winds. The time that had passed in this area could not be remembered, but, then again, neither could-

A sudden crash erupted a cloud a dust that hung think in the air. A large figure burst forth from the haze, landing with another heavy thud, thick cylinders called feet sinking into the ground. Looming over, a reflective visor stared down menacingly.

"I'm surprised I found you here," a booming voice rang from the giant form, "let alone alive. You will come with me." With creaking joints, a great claw approached at a crawl, widening its grasp to ensnare the target.

"You... seek me?" The words came out with no concern for the approaching peril. "But... why?" An answer never came as the advancing arm swayed in its steady reach.

"What is this?" the behemoth exclaimed, turning to find another perched on his arm. A small, green, sleek figure was the culprit. Razors decorated his hands and feet while two sharp points rose from the back of his head.

"Greetin's," the new arrival spoke, "I think I'll be takin' this bounty, if ya don't mind." Pausing in the outstretching, the giant drove the limb into the earth with the wish of crushing the competition. "Oh, I'm sorry," a shrill voice taunted from above, "but it wun be that easy. No one escapes the Goblin that easily."

"G-g-goblin?" Fear shook the words of the lumbering hulk as, following the source of the sound above, the adversary was found hanging in the empty sky. "Mad Goblin?" With a maddening cackle, a glowing burst rocketed the airborne attacker earthward. As the white flare propelled him, a spinning lance emerged from his massive forearm, drilling deep into the larger's head. Fluid and bits were pulled out by the agar. Planting his sharp toes into the skewered foe's shoulders, he ripped his weapon out.

"That's the problem with your new technology," the Mad Goblin bragged, analyzing the circuits that clung to his drill, "it breaks too easy." A hefty thwack removed him from his position of glory.

"But it still works well enough," a now gargled voice croaked. A low hum sounded as the colossus's torso spun around, attempting to find where the nuisance was knocked to with its failing sight. Finding no body, there was... a cable? Latched to the neck, the segmented cord was traced upward, being revealed as the old mining unit's tail, which was suspending itself in the air.

"Boo," he feigned a fright. Releasing the hooked tail, all of the clawed digits were aimed at the monstrosity. In a blinding flash, a hail of knifes pierced the giant's armor through. Trembling and sparking, critical malfunctions overcame the massive robot. Touching the ground for the first in a long while, the Mad Goblin was quick to spring away, scooping up the bounty in his oversized hands, just in time to escape the ensuing explosion of the defeated construction. Leaping from rock to rock, the hunter carried his quarry to his vehicle.

"I demand to know what is the meaning of this," the bounty insisted after being rudely thrown down onto the floor.

"A-wha?" staggered the Goblin in awe. He pulled off his helmet, revealing long, stringy, grey hair and sickly, grey skin. He questioningly stared at him with his beady eyes, scratching his scarcely haired face in bewilderment with an ungloved hand. "Ya... ya can talk?"

"Of course I can," came an immediate reply. "Why would I not?"

"I dunno, I just dun expect conversations from those not on two legs," he reasoned, "or without mouths."

"Feh, typical humans," the life form scoffed.

"Well, ya dun have to worry 'bout that too much," he informed while sealing the door, "I'm the only human in this system." He thought a moment. "Actually, this galaxy." He paced around the alien, squeezing his way through the narrow corridor.

"That does not answer my question," it continued. "Why is this happening to me?"

"Beats me," the man shrugged off. "I'm just respondin' to an open job. I'ma a bounty hunter. Name's Shadrick Hopkins, not that you care. I just followed some cordinates to yar location. Dinna expect ya to be livin' though, or to be so popular."

"But," he asked again, "what are these events? Why am I involved." Rick only shrugged again. "You know nothing? Not even who I am?"

"Why would ya need me to tell ya?" the human asked, situating himself into a chair. "Dun ya already know that?"

  "No... no I do not."

"Well, that's just dandy," Rick muttered as he grabbed the clutch, changing gears from park to lyph drive, taking the shuttle out into the boundless black of space.

OOC: In case you couldn't tell, its sci-fi space travel of not this world. All I ask is to make it serious and not Trek/Wars/etc. So, no humans. This is a shapeless lump of clay that can be formed as seen fit, I have no expectations or future planned.
Hey, Gobbo also wants you to know that he left out some important notes. Rick's ship looks like a beat-up semi-truck in outer space, and its name is Anathema. "Lyph" is an acronym for "light-years per hour". The things they travel in are a sort of EM cannon that catapult ships around through little ring nodes in order to travel long distances. (Remember Eistein's relativity -- nothing can travel faster than the speed of light, and it is damned hard to even get close!)

Also, just because, let no person add more often than once per day or within two posts of his last addition, hm'kay? When RoR was made in the RElders, we did well to follow a never-discussed idea of "turns", but in recent RPs, it seems that some people are hijacking the storylines by adding every free chance they get! ~ Ems

As the shuttle traveled towards its destination, the alien continued with its torrent of questions.

“Where are you taking me?” it asked.

“Where else? To me employer.” Rick replied.

“Why is this happening?…” the life form asked again, but now more to itself than to the man, succumbing to the fact that this person may not possess the information it seeked.

The alien started taking in its surroundings of the shuttle. The front/driver side, where the human was, was modestly spacious with a red chair as the driver’s seat. The alien’s attention was then focused more on the rest of the shuttle. The backside looked like a storage compartment, full of different weird-looking gadgets and equipment, stacked on makeshift shelves and sealed with glass to prevent them from falling off during tilting. In the middle of the place, the alien took in everything, although not comprehending what the stuff were or what they did.

After a long while of silence, Rick began slowing down the vehicle.

“Where am I?” the alien life form asked.

“My favorite place in this whole galaxy.” the human simply replied as he scooped up the alien and got out of the shuttle.

As Rick walked, the alien perceived sounds, growing louder.

“What is this place?!” it asked, this time more insistent.

“Well,” Rick replied, “let me introduce ya to…”

OOC: Sorry if the dialect doesn’t sound right. I’m not an expert on it.
