Congrats! What's your gym? I could use Fire Blast.
I know my BD familiar sucks!!! I have limited internet access so I'm constantly losing battles.

Well, even tho' it is handy for gyms to sell stuff, any non-sold item can always be found in the Maelstrom Junk Shop.

I don't like the Junk Shop, tho'. It is too easy. Hmmm, maybe I should make its prices be really, really high so that gym leaders are more pressed to sell a variety of items.

I hate it when gym leaders say "Oooh, I'm gonna sell this" when like five other gyms already sell the same thing. Oy veh! Thanks for being original, Nick.

I also want to thank Hero, er, Kero. I mean, who would've thought that a law-breaking, Gym-forgetting person would get promoted?

But thanks. I am sorry I did not include a proper thank-you in my response to the e-mail, but that was before the Apocalypse, which I survived. Explanation?

  - a do-or-die science project: you fail project, you fail class
  - a big Spanish project
  - HW from Thursday and Friday (I missed Friday because earth sci classes went to Knott's)
  - burning do-or-die projects for like two other people
  - go to sleep at, oh, very late

  ===========
I managed to survive, however. So now I would like to take a big moment and thank Kero.

*takes TWO first-class virtual pies and hands over*
You better like these, I spent half my e-credits on them!

Hmm...Perhaps I should sell Leaf Stones? I mean, Mushrooms are fungi, which most people would classify under Grass. Or maybe Fire Stones, since Mario is a fireball-flinging person thingie? Hmm...to make it more confusing, I'm usually Light/Fire element in forum RPGs. Sorry for my constant babbling. *slap*

My gym is the Flames of Royality gym. Not the best one but it does in a pinch.

And Mintman, the list said that I was there was no one else selling the Fire Stone and FIre Blast. That's why I choose it. Which I found hard to believe that no one was selling the Fire Stone. Oh well.

My gym is out of the runnings totally. Like, third-to-last place, only ahead of the dead gyms.

Now that I think about it, I will probably view the walkaround second-important. I need to put SSI on all my Netfirms pages, to finally get rid of stupid GeoCities. I also need to make MySQL databases for NSMFC.

Should I feel like it someday, I will sit down on a looong weekend and make a Flash file on which you can walk around my city and enter battles...in FF3 style...hit the hot spot, you're engaged in battle! Erm, is FFX like that? I don't have PS2. *slap*

But this free promotion...it gives me hope. Now I visit RE like once a day, a 75020% increase since last month. Thanks Kero!!!! Long live RE!!

Hm, which FF3? Ye mean FF VI? The "random battle appears from nowhere, reality shatters and shifts to battle screen" phenomenon? Yeah, FFX is exactly like that (except the shattering looks and sounds like real glass, and the battle theme ranks close to FF IV as one of the best ever).

You should get PS2. .hack//Infection rules... And there's 3 more just like it coming soon. And your save data moves with you to the next volume!
   I'll shut up now...

FF3 is FF6, only for SNES. And under my current circumstances, I cannot get any new game systems. Yes, even with 4 out of 6 A+ grades!!! Ever heard that stupid "you're too old for videogames?"

I hate the random-battle thing. I like it when you can at least see the enemy, like Chrono Trigger. At least you have some freedom. That's why I especially like Paper Mario...it's not fully turn-based. Explanation?

On the field screen, if you simply walk into an enemy, you will enter normal combat, in which Mario always goes first, for some not-obvious reason. However, on the field screen, if you jump on or hammer your enemy while on the field screen, you will gain a First Strike in battle, where Mario does the appropriate attack on the lead enemy of the foe party. Should the enemy hit you, an Enemy First Strike will occur.

  -------
This is way off topic of R.E. League. Before I get slapped---

What in creation does Waterfall do? I know it's weak. Who wants Leaf Stones and Fire Stones? Go see Mushroom City Shop.

Hey Kero...one thing that would greatly spice up REL is if we could have real one-on-one battles with other people. I do not mean gym battles...I mean like, both people are there, and both choose their commands. I know it's a crazy idea...here, have some pie. *hands over a small slice of e-pie*

Hmmm, now I have no more e-pie. Anyone care to give me some? I'll tell you about any secret in Paper Mario....or any N64 Mario game for that matter.

Waterfall isn't weak. It's got a power of 70 I think. Almost as strong as Surf...

Hehe, makes you wonder which would win: Waterfall, or HyperBeam?
  ---
Also, about that 1v1 thing someone brought up(I think it was Eagle), that's been done. RELLB, Reality's End League Link Battler. It took too much bandwidth, apparently, so it now rots somewhere in the filthy mires of Kero's HD. I think he said he'd work on it if he ever found a server with enough bandwidth, and no advertisement's on the page to screw it up. Try asking him about it.

  Yes, ALMOST...
However I don't think there is anything that can learn Waterfall that can't learn Surf.

  It's use?
It was is as a non-battle move in Gold, Silver, and Crystal

In most cases, Waterfall, probably. You don't have to recharge so you can attack twice. Depends on the elemental type of pokemon and whether it's Defense or Spec. Defense is weaker.

HyperBeam would win by virtue of it isn't an inferior move. Yes, everything that can learn Waterfall can learn Surf as well (or as is to the best of my knowledge). It isn't like BubbleBeam in RBY where Persians had a use for it; Waterfall should simply not exist.

However, I have the compatibilities for Waterfall up and not Surf at the moment in the REL, so it is used until Surf gets up.

Now, Surf vs HyperBeam is something to consider. Attack and Defense values are negligible in this argument as they are actually the determinants of the victor.
You have a 95 Power attack of 255/256 accuracy versus a 150 power attack of only 90% or so. The biggy here is to consider STAB: when Surf is used, chances are a Water Poke is using it, almost boosting its power to that of HyperBeam's without the recharge time. HyperBeam has very few users that get STAB with it and a recharge at the end, making it only truly useful as a finisher or against Recover/Resters.

  Observe:
  95 * 100% * 2 = 190
  150 * 90% * 1 = 135

Ouch. HyperBeam is highly specialized, folks. Don't over-use.

Hey, it is 90% accurate, right? I miss with quite literally everything I use thanks to bad luck, so it is hard for me to remember exact values. It isn't 95%, is it?

I don't know what the accuracy is, because I never miss with Draconix. I mean it. I've used Hyper Beam on everything except stuff that doesn't take physical damage(and then it's ThunderBolt or IceBeam, both usually very effective). I also have HyperBeam on M2, but I can't say as that I actually use him, unless Draconix gets knocked out(which hasn't happened at all). I had him as my first Poké while I was leveling him up, but HyperBeam wasn't as good with M2 as it is for Draconix. I wub my Dragonite!
Edit: Oh, it's also on my Scyter, and I think it has about same accuracy as Draconix with it, cept it misses occasionally.
