Actually, it has nothing to do with the boat.
And last I checked, attempting to abuse that set-back flaw didn't work, you dirty monkey. I still haven't made the motor flag to get the ferry itself to work, so you'll have to venture through the Rocket Tunnel in order to get to the Maelstrom Gym. The clue to get through its winding corridors is provided in the tunnels -- right before things become hectic, to be exact. You just have to realize it.

I never got thru the Rocket Tunnel and I entered the Maelstrom Gym and won.

I didn't call you a dirty monkey, Stranger, but rather Eagle, and now he is even dirtier for not realizing I said you can't abuse that flaw anymore; of course he got to Maelstrom City using the flaw. It still existed when he went there, and because of he and others like him, I had to redo the set-back system.

I just took the easy way and looked at the source code and figured my way through the tunnel.
I've been to the gym thrice, once by the ferry glitch, twice by tunnel...
I got my a** handed back to me on a platter!

lol, "on a platter". I mean, how hard is it to beat the Maelstrom Gym? I beat it with 5 level 30 or so pkmn, and one level 50 houndoom. It's not that hard.

Well of blutty course it isn't hard when you have a level 50 Houndoom! The highest the Pokemon in the Maelstrom Gym reach at that level is 45, which is easily clobbered by the 'Doom, and whatever it can't handle, a 30 of over-superior type advantage can.
He's talking about same-grounds or about equal, not a trick-out to the level-figuring system ( [ 50 + 30 x 5 ] / 6 =~ 33, much below the level 45 average Rex Ranarum gyms are set at, thus allowing the 50 to sneak in unmatchable).
