MintMan, do you have the fornulae for the transferral of DV's from parent to egg?
I found a copy of it I'd saved a year or so ago and buried in a deep-deep-subfolder.

Hmm... You've just reminded me to ponder something: What will breeding be like in the Ruby/Sapphire versions?
...and will there ever be a R/S version of REL?

I'm sure there will be a r/s version, but it's not likely to be out anytime soon, since they haven't been released in JAPAN yet!

How many pokémon games are there going to be for crying out loud! I think it is starting to get old. I mean the first three versions are nearly identical to each other as GSC are to each other. Sure, maybe in yellow pikachu will follow you around, GS had some major upgrades from RBY, C has the battle tower or whatever it is called, but really, If you've caught all 151/251 in one version you've got 'em all so to speak. I totally beat everything in my silver version and ever since I haven't felt much like playing pokémon at all. I don't know about everybody else, but I'm all pokéd out. If there is something wrong, it's probably my fault.

Of course I know the breeding formula. I think there was a discussion of it for some reason in the Classic forum due to an out-of-place post.
Defense from opposite gendered parent, Special from the opposite plus-or-minus eight-or-zero, Speed and Strength randomized. Health is dependent on the four genes, so it doesn't matter. Simple enough.
Don't worry. I know where to find this stuff.
As for R/S, yes there will be. If they make any more, I don't know what I'm going to do. So know one's read the stuff on Wayfarer's tale yet? Huh.... I put it on the site.
All of the new editions of Pokemon are completely different to the one previous. It might seem sorta the same, but look what they added in the last one. Breeding, items, Special Defense and Attack.
Now, if you are talking about different versions instead of editions, then of course they're the same; they're supposed to be.

On the commercial for Ruby/Sapphire, it was indicated that there would be 2-on-2 pokemon battles, TONS of completely new Pokemon, and FAR improved graphics (not so far though; they have yet to give up the "every tree looks alike" mentality, but the fading-sand-footprints is cool looking)
They're being released 11/21/2002!! Woohoo! Sometime between then and the end of the year, I plan to own Sapphire; I may get a Ruby version for Lugiatrainer so we can battle...

The November release date is for Japan; I don't think we're getting it until 2003.
They are supposed to add 99 more Pokemon (but we can expect there to be 100 considering they'll make another Mew/Celebi-lyke).
The graphics are much better than the previous games, but still nothing special. One neat feature is terrains shown under enemy Pokemon rather than just a white screen.
Too bad the new male character looks like a dip. Oh well.

Yeah, 2003 was my guess too; but who said anything about waiting for some idiot localizers to mess with it? I'm going to import a copy of Sapphire as soon as is humanly possible...
There had better not be another one of those "uncatchable" pokemon again... they'd be better off making it a "really really secret" pokemon.
The male character does look a bit stupid, but a lot of anime fans enjoy seeing people with white hair, so I guess it's useless to argue... Maybe I'll play as a girl just so I don't have to look at him.

Um, Pokemon is the reason I come here; this is the RELeague Forum (therefore the understood topic is "Pokemon")...
And if your friends were frightened off by a pocket monster, maybe that's a good thing...
Sorry if that sounded rude, I just don't like people throwing asterisks at me.

Aw man, that entry pic is still up? Its been over a month! I gotta get something new and fast. I typically try to have a BD picture or something non-Pokemon save during certain events to keep such a thing from happening. I have had many fans at this site who don't like Pokemon; the R.E. League is seperate enough that it won't bother the competent people.
And on the note of Celebi, it actually was catchable. In the Japanese version of Crystal, there was a certain time and date in which you got a message about something or the other, and you had to go to the forest shrine after doing some stuff, and Celebi was there. I don't know exactly what the steps were; this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Stupid, yes, but true. You can actually use the Game Shark to trigger the event in your American Crystal games.
Importing R/S is a good idea... if you know Japanese.... and feel like paying $50 for a freakin' GB game. I wonder if Pokemon's current lack of fame would allow people to pick it up for less of a price?

I knew about the Celebi catching thing because I actually went through that process on the Japanese version of Crystal; if the time/day are right (or, as you said, if you GameShark), then you will be stopped by a Nurse if you try to leave the Pokemon Communication Center in Kogane City. You are handed a GS Ball, which you must take to the Pokeball expert in Hiwada Town, then HE drops some hints about Ubame Forest, THEN you can go to the forest and meet a Lv30 Celebi for one chance at catching it... Also, it blocks the way back to Kogane, so you you have to fight it before you can use that route again.
I don't think $50 is too much to pay for R/S, considering they're probably going to charge $35-40 for the translated ones next year anyway.
