If it uses AI, why would it be two player? You mean like Battling Dragons?
There is way too much to think of in Pokemon to trust to AI. At any rate, people would most likely abuse the system, consuming tons of bandwidth -- which I don't have -- and ruin everything.

There is the Reality's End League Link Battler (RELLB for short) which never worked on F2S, but now that I have this new server, I could try to upload it and see how it works. Eh, why not? I think it'd be interesting to bring back... but a pain to update. Oy veh that code hasn't been touched in prolly over a year now!

Hmm, it used to work on virtualave or whatever it used to be hosted on prior to F2S - it's a bit late now though, Pokémon RPG's have very very few followers these days, and I just wonder whether it's worth the hassle...

I haven't heard of it but if it's realtime multiplayer I'd love it. Maybe you could just change the appearance to something other than pokemon, or do something, I dunno I'm sleepy.

Actually, it somewhat didn't work on VA either because it's pop-ups would come up so rapidly (even in that little frame) that an error would eventually happen and shut-down the whole operation.

And a decline in Pokemon-ness is just what I needed. With less people playing Pokemon, I don't have to worry as much about bandwidth concerns. Besides, it'd be an easy update for me to get some more C++ work done.

im not exactly sure what pokemaster meant but here's what i think he meant.
i think he asked for u to make a game where u can team up with another player, and fight AI characters. seems to be intresting, but i doubt possible.basically said this because i think ya ddn't understand him...since he kinda was vague.

i bet this post was a stupid one....well maybe...

  2 players versing enemies
  *cough* PSO *cough*

Just get either an Xbox, GC or DC, they have some really good online games coming (DC has a f***load of em!) and I dunno if the Sony is going to get too many, I heard FF11 is supposed to be playable online but doesn't the fact that the PS2 cannot handle a game like PSO say somthing?

I'd like to see the RELLB restored.
I want to battle _Pokemon_ online against human inteligence, not AI.
as MintMan said, Pokemon shouldn't be left to AI.

Further more... I've got 6 Lv. l00s for Land Across the Sea, and I'd like to be able to use them for something more than beating anything they hit with one attack.

Hey now, to be fair, you can't kill everything in one hit. I mean, if a gym leader also has level 100 Pokes (or close to) when you fight his gym, his Pokemon will be raised in level to match yours.

As for the RELLB, I might know a way to hook up my Fractured Reality server to this one, but updating all of the RELLB's ancient and horribly uncompatible code would take quite some time.
Maybe when I am in college... in my junior year

Lugiatrainer, not to hurt your feelings or anything, as one of the testers and sometimes user of the RELLB (I think I tested it...) there is an options that makes every person have lv. 100 Pokemon in that battle. So, you having 6 lv. 100s would do nothing cause everyone can have them.....

I don't see many gym leaders with Level 100 Pokemon, and besides, you only can fight them ONCE.

Oh, and I won't be facing Sporing Electrodes like on the PBS (remember working on that, MintMan?)

PBS? That's still around. I just don't have the time to work on it any more; besides, I want to make an RELLB/PBS union game that utilizes it's FracturedReality.co.uk host server's full capabilities (i.e. chat speed instead of web page speed).

And there are (or were) a lot of gyms with level 100 Pokes. They are all in the RBY version, tho'... and I think most of them might be gone now after the Final Sweep.

I think I joined just at the time to catch the gyms when they needed to be swept, but hadn't been

  <HISTORY>

There have been three sweeps of gym ridding in the R.E. League's short history. The Initial Sweep was when I moved from Angelfire to the CGI version of the R.E. League. I lost about half the gyms, but most of the sucked, so it didn't matter.
Then, not even two years in R.E. history (not even one year at my new CGI host, Virtual Avenue), when The League was at its pennacle, my frickin' host deleted me under false pretenses and I lost over one hundred gyms. Yep, the R.E. League used to be freakin' huge. There were actually five seperate factions at the time (Elite Masters squeezed in between Guardian and Adept) it was so big, but after moving to F2S, with no way of contacting former gym leaders to change their code, I was left with too little gyms to even remember, not to mention I had to restart all member files (including my own, which had a lot of gym info in there that was currently not backed up).
Then came the Final Sweep which you are referring to. When I moved from F2S near the beginning of this year, I told the gym leaders to change their code but didn't go for sweeps fearing how many gyms I'd lose. I think I finally cleared out the riff-raff shortly before summer, showing that I had lost clear over half of the gyms that were at F2S. With only thirty-two gyms remaining, the R.E. League continued to fight.
Luckily, that was the Final Sweep. Now that I have a domain name and backed-up gym files, I can get deleted and move wherever I want; the links will still work
Back-ups would have made the Big Sweep easier but would not have prevented it. So long as their sucky gym code led to VirtualAvenue, their gym would not function properly. Sucks, don't it?

  </HISTORY>

Well, now those of you who didn't know do. I'm planning on actually incorporating this history of mass deletion in the R.E. League in some fashion. I want to have a Hall of Wonder and a Wall of Blunder for lost good gyms (like Beholders, ReBolt, Nova, and Heart) and for ungodly ones (like PK, Skull, and Satan) respectively.

Hey, I remember all of those sucky gyms (and am luckily not listed with them )

Anyhoo, I remember the funny thing about that second, grand sweep (well, not so much as funny as it was devistatingly crushing) was that KK had this huge assignment due from our college composition teacher (whom we called justly, as do others now, "the devil in drag"). And he swore, "When I get his huge, time consuming project done, I shall back up the RE League, not that it'll come to any use, probably." One week before that time, snippy, snapping, bam-o. Catastrophe number two.

Of course, the way I see it, most of those gym probably wouldn't have made it past the third pestilence anyways, so...
Lair of Mad Goblin - Home Lost Soul, a far from average Pocket Monster Fanatic Fiction, and my personal brand of home grown insanity...

Not Quite Heroes - On-line comic that's everything but normal. Everything from diabolical meat by-products to men comprised of mayo jar...

The thing you forget, MG, is that if there was no Big Sweep, the Final Sweep would have never been.

I could have stayed at Virtual Avenue so long as I wished. Even if I did move to realitysend.com (which I did out of necessity, not so much want), I could have put up redirects for all linked code, keeping any gym that failed to conform. Moreover, I would have kept a lot of those lost gyms because I would have been able to alert them of the move and not require them to remake everything they had worked for. That was a really big blow that lost me a lot of people.

I have a suguestion, not that anybody would really care, but here it goes. There should be a player ranking for the RE leage(s). There is one for the BD andI think it would be good for the RE because unless you look up other players (honestly, who does that) you don't know how good you're doing compared to everyone else. To me, now that I think about it, haveing high level pokémon, and loads of money isn't worth it once you've pretty much beaten every possible gym unless you can compare with other people. I mean, I know that I'm not the only person who just waits around for new gyms to open, hoping for some bit of a challenge. Pathetically, now in my land across the sea versoin, battle by using the little rolling middle buttonish thing on my mouse, which basically means that I use my 1st pokémon's 1st attack repeatedly, and *POOF* "Lauren won a - badge. Nobody really cares what I though, right?
If there is something wrong, it's probably my fault.

*is getting some freaky display on this page *

BD is a competitive game. The R.E. League is not. All being high in level in the R.E. League means is that you have too much spare time and a mouse who's scroll button must be worn out.
It's hard to level up in BD; it's not for the R.E. League. Hence, it doesn't matter and I won't waste my time making such a thing.
Now gym stats, on the other hand, could be of some interest...
