Yep, this is the forum for possibly the best, nay, the best on-line Pokémon RPG. There are a lot of changes to come soon, including Legend of the Gilded Jewel (the GS Version), but that will all have to wait until a later time to be revealed...

Hey I reckon for the next one you should allow us to create our starter pokemon.... that would be cool! Although I know you like to stick 100% to the proper rulz....

Well it wouldn't be to hard (for the users!) Just allow them to choose a URL for there poket monster and let them choose up to 2 elements and let it learn moves based on its elements and also at lv 20 - 35 - 40 - 50 -100 let you make attacks just like it works out in AT, but make more points for each level attack!
But it sounds pretty hard to do so I dunno wether Kero could do it yet.

Mmmm... yes. I agree with you, MadGoblin.
I think all that the Gilded Jewel will end up being is just like the original RE League, only with G/S Pokémon. (Of course, note the "I think" part... )
Which, dear friends, would be absolutely cool. :) *can't wait to get an online version of an Umbreon* .... ^^
Currently, I'm worried about the changes. I do believe that awhile back, someone had said something about having to do something to keep your Gym or something when the G/S version comes...
If that was just a figment of imagination, I blame it on too many hours on the Internet and just not enough sleep...

I'm pretty sure that MintMan said that you would have to earn a new gym in the new version, but you're old version gym would still be the same. I think it's going to be like a completly new game, at least I think so.

To clarify all confusion or doubt, let me use my uber-inside-information:
The REL, much like the PKMN games, will exist in multiple forms at the same time. Just as you can jump between RBY and GSC, you'll be able to jump between Old-school REL and Gilded REL. Thus, all gyms in existence can remain unaltered as newer versioned gyms are added to the site.

That is what MG just said. It is an entirely seperate game. They shall co-exist side-by-side with members and gyms differing (although your GS badge and account names must be one in the same as RBY ones).
I think I remember what Mai is talking about, but it wasn't all for GS-ifying. It was an edit in the old REL to make the Pokemon's stats more accurate, but those were in the days when gym code was on the leader's site. Now, I can just edit the stuff on my server to affect all!
I have some time, so I shall bore you all with the details of LotGJ. This stuff will be known at the beginning of the game, so its not like a spoiler of anything.
It will take place twenty years after the original RELeague. The world has been decimated and is in ruin. You start off with only one Pokemon and a strange ornate gem (the gilded jewel). Wackiness ensues from there. Gym leaders that also have Land Across the Sea gyms (AKA RBY or original REL Gyms) will be expected to use this theme of desolation. You can make some pretty nifty ChronoTrigger-esque time things with this.
I have a sweeeeeeeet plot lined up for it. In fact, all of the edits I am going to have to do for the current REL are just in anticipation for this new one. I have a long winter break to work on it, so I presume I shall get it finished. Who knows? I at least want to have the GS version out for the REL's next anniversary in March.

I am thinking up a nice story about the phat islands being destroyed but the Phat Palace turning into a city....
Damn, you just opened a nice little window of sweetness.
I give ya a 11/10 for that idea, keep it comin and I wanna see stuff as good if not better in BD RPG!

Oh, it will be sweet. The plot is going to tie-in with my never-completed fan fiction. That is actually one of the main reasons for all of the changes I'm going to have to make, like Clay's name mysteriously changing into something else. *shifty eye mode*
What destroyed it may be a little too much to tell you at this point. It will be far sweeter to read and gasp "Awwww... Awwwwwww!" to.
As for its comparison with the BDRPG... that is really unfair. For one, the BDRPG will actually be an RPG, not a crude RPG molded around the REL battle system. Second, there are going to be near countless BDRPGs... well, actually, about 24, but even that number will keep me busy for years to come! Also, BD's plot(s) can constantly change to a variety of weird stuff. In the REL, I have only Pokémon to work with (although I do kinda take some liberal translations with it; if you thought the Moon Stone bringing about the first apocalypse was gruesome, wait until you see what the main villain of Gilded Jewel is set out to do *shivers and drools from it's sheer ultmicity*).

well to tell ya the truth gold/silver is getting old........they are making a new game with new pokemon for the gba soon.........not too soon.........maybe a month or 2 actually, but why make that if a totally new thing is gonna be up in a few months, and then everyone will want you to make that new one which would kinda suck....
i bet this post was a stupid one....well maybe...

Well I only played PKMN blue, I do not even know any of the new pokemon, I am thinking about getting gold or silver.... but another one? I wont be getting the third series if I gotta go get a new expensive game console, I think I'll stick to my Dream machine for now!

I'll be playing LotGJ probably not for any new Pokemon, just for Plotline and stuff. Even if the new Pokemon weren't there I would probably play it anyways.

Okay, Pokemon Advanced isn't coming out in two months. Its going to be released as late as next year. And that's just in Japan. We still gotta wait even longer for it to come out in the states.
