Well, if people don't know what an object is, then they'll try to describe it to the best of their ability. It's natural, right? Well, on closer inspection of the picture and Gungnir's description, I guess I can tell what it is now, especially after you told me.

Good question... Um... I don't have thee answer, but it looks better than some of the other ones anyway. But it's a pear because... pear? Pear!? Oi! Spear! It's just a spear (pear.. what was I think'n)beacuse, you wouldn't use a Shovel to attack BD with. Mintman. Do you have any sanity left. I'm worried. JK! But a shovel?! That's insame! Sorry MM.

Well, it is not The The Gungnir, per se. It is just the spear that Kero Kato and Geirrek are always pictured holding. I mean, go to any splash page or artwork and it is there. It is pretty bad to think of it in terms of "Why that relic?" when relics have only been out for about two months.
And because of this very post, I am heavily leaning toward making a joke relic that is in fact a shovel. Problem is trying to think what it would do.... probably nothing because it is a freakin' shovel.
Smilies? Well, you have three choices in the matter. You could first see the Help link that is provided on every single page of the forums. Smileys are one of the only things even mentioned in that brief forum help; I think it a shame if people cannot even think to check it for that.
Your second option would be to click the Smiley Code link provided every time you compose a message for the forums. I should think that it would be another very obvious choice.
Finally, you could just try putting in your emoticons as you would when they are not instantly converted in hopes that they would be. Here, things like :) and :( and XD are (well, not those ones, but that is only because I disabled Smiley Code).

I think that maybe shovels COULD be weapons, if only because people use the bladed ends to usually dig, but they can also hurt pretty badly (no, I didn't get by a shovel before, I just predict that it'll hurt pretty badly). Since they also dig, they might be earth-type weapons.

The only weapony use of shovels that I've heard of is their use in chopping off the heads of snakes... Maybe change the attack to bestial instead....
