Well, there could be a way around the save feature/cheating. I think.
Here's my proposal for the anti-cheat saving:
1) Create under the Puzzles List a "Saved Survival Mode" puzzle.
2) In this puzzle, you have the data for it stored under your personal account information, the same place where your trick shots are saved.
3) Upon successful loading of the saved puzzle, automatically fill saved game information with a blank field at turn #0.
4) Create an option under your moves which will save your data and exit without posting to the high scores your current game.
5) When this information is stored, you should keep the following information:
a. The current field layout.
b. The current game type (i.e: Normal, Normal w/null/omni, Infinite, Infinite w/null/omni)
c. The current turn. Possibly even subtract 1 from the turn as a discouragement from saving too oftenly? Probably not on that, but maybe. Or as a bonus for people who can go without saving the whole time.
d. Current energy levels.
e. Whatever else you'd need to completely recreate the level.
You probably already knew that, but if not, there's a simple plan/guideline which you could use for it.

No, I had no idea that to implement a game-saving function, I would have to save the game data.
That is not what I am worried about, Ice. That is all very basic and simple; it is actual cheating that I am worried about, namely people being able to manipulate the field that is saved.
I mean, technically, even the high score transmittal is not safe enough; I monitor it like mad, sure, but I am not going to throw another log into the fire.

About the high scores, will the score continue to increase normally after 999 turns? I'm asking since the bar seems to be long enough for only 3 digits. I probably won't get there anytime soon, but with all the competition I'm starting to get... :~
(Will you also eventually get the new smiley faces up on the smiley code link? I'm just guessing my smiley for the time being.)

The Hi Score Rankings do allow for higher than three digits of score. It's just only as large as it has to be. Before anyone got up to double digits, I'm pretty sure it was slimmed down to only look like two would fit.
Besides, not actual program would stop at 999 unless it was graphically limited from increasing any more. Since this isn't graphics and is just text in an expandable table row, things are unlimited (as opposed to, say, the number of Rupee's Link has acquired, for only finite space is given for their number).
As for the emoticons, I coulda sworn that Ems already did that. Weird...
(saw file on how to make them, and therefor will )

I don't think the smileys are on the list yet, but just do as I do and link to the image. We are allowed to do that, right?

Well, this is kinda old, but it seems to be the perfect place to put this
First off, draggy's up to 600+ for Survial1.
Second, I got a new high score, but at the cost of actually sleeping tonight, the spirit images were loading really slow, and so it took me about an hour and a half to do, saving, as mentioned above, would have allowed me to have stopped without loosing where I was, then continued on a faster connection.
Draggy, dude, perhaps you should seek therapy, you must be playing END way too much.

Perhaps, considering it took me about an hour and 10 minutes to get up to my new high score.

Right there with ya buddy... er, Ice.
And to think that in the original Q-BASIC demo of "Eternal Night's Dream," a score of sixty was something to be proud of
I think saving has already been mentioned and denied quite frequently. A save feature would allow for rampant cheating, no matter how it was implemented. There was a discussion on this someplace else, maybe even here.
So sorry, no saves.
Congrats on the score.... um... Aerial Dreamer? I cannot remember which one you were quite; you don't have your Master Account linked to it.

Boyachi, of course they can. People just need to learn how to implement the Hibernation mode on their computers. And Emmy, the saving issue ws in fact in this very thread. I don't remember anyone bringing it up again, either.

So you can state that it was this topic it was discussed earlier in, but you could not see that it was just yesterday it was brought up again?
I just spieled all on it again because I knew no one would read back for it or remember it.
And new score on Survival Normal! I don't think I ever had a good score on that before.

This is an example of why I shouldn't post stuff between midnight and 6 AM.

Why say that?
You did not do anything; you were just saying how it sucked that you could not save as mentioned earlier. Ice was the one that somehow completely missed the same being side twice in this topic -- once old and once when you just said it.
Wow, everybody sure is going END crazy. That means it is time to make crazy END updates for the approaching birthday on the nineteenth -- a whole week later than I thought it was going to be! Hooray! I actually have time to do work!

Also I dunno about everyone else, but I set a new top score (for a day or so) and posted about it, which seemed to spark the newer high score, which in turn again prompted more postings.

Probably because it's the one what's due for update next.
I also like to think that I have some part to do with it, since I'd been starting to play it a lot more even before I knew there was new stuff coming. Mostly to knock you off the #1 spot on SOMETHING, Draggy!
For this, I have been examining trick shots of others on the high score boards, experimenting with new shots of my own, and trying to come up with new strategies to conserve energy.
I've been making progress in all three areas steadily.

You people make me sound so pathetic...I'm not even CLOSE to you people's high scores on the boards, and I'm not even daring Survival.

Wait, not even daring Survival? Why not?! That has to be the easiest to get on.
Whereas the challenge puzzles all require sitting for long periods of time, modifying your trick shots until perfectly tuned to get a low, low score, Survival is more of "run for it and kill".
I mean, Infinite Mode requires no skills whatsoever as you only have two possible actions you can take every turn. All you have to do is not die.
