I'm getting a GC next monday, prolly getting Capcom vs SNK 2 EO, I'll probobly get Sonic 2 later, and can someone fill me in on the new mario game, I have owned every single mario adventure game from SNES onwards, but this one looks... The Mario Sunshine game is tight. Plays exactly the same as Mario 64 (the best damn Mario game ever) The only real difference is the water cannon on your back- but it’s just lyke any power- you use it to hit things you can’t reach- or to boost you up in the air... you clean things with it... ...whatever. It’s still a fun game- worthy of the Mario Franchise.
Don’t even bother with the Luigi’s Haunted Mansion. That game is crap.
You go around the house into different rooms to capture ghosts with a Vacuum-cleaner on your back (lyke the water cannon) But Luigi’s controls are hard to master- plus the game gets sorely repetitive... That’s basically all you do. Clear room- get coins, clear room, get coins...
In Mario Sunshine, Water Mario (Baby Bowser) messed up Isle Delfino, and when the real Mario comes, he is convicted and is forced to save the island. A really cool game, from the little that I have played.
I am a Mario fanatic, but I don't have a GameCube. I played it at my friend's house, who for some reason hates Mario.
Super Mario 64 is ONE of the greatest games of all time, Six_Grey. Paper Mario rocks. Super Mario RPG is like the only 3d game on SNES. And SMB3 is the coolest game for NES.

Anyone getting the new Zelda game? Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, that is? I heard that the graphics & storyline are trash, and even though I like Zelda games, hmm, second-best to Mario games, this is worse than Mario Teaches Typing!!!!!!!!!! I mean, for the last friggin time, LINK DOES NOT HAVE A SISTER? Or did Link suddenly have, um, children? Ahem...nmind.

People saying Super Mario 64 was the best game, well its not, Super Mario World was and still is the best platformer/mario game ever. The yoshi secrets alone made it a game worth playing over and over and over and over and over again. Thanks for the poop on Luigi, and as for Capcom vs SNK 2 EO, that looks totally s***, the GC-ism pffft... What is this? 1 kick button 1 punch button? It appears to me that this new console is not for the Streetfighter style games... C movement auto specials .

Hey, I know it’s a can of worms saying M64 is the best- but it is. Not my favorite (everyone will have THEIR favorite & with many reasons why...)- but the best. Hell, my favorite is the original Atari game followed by Mario II for NES. And Paper Mario is a good game- all Mario games are good in their own rights. BUT- M64 is the most fun to play endlessly. He can do sooo much, you can go play levels over and over and get something new out of it. It’s just so damn fun to run around those huge 3-D worlds and jump on badguys and fire yourself out of cannons! And I’ve always loved water levels in the Mario games. And now they are vast 3-d passages and... drools... N64 took Mario to a whole new level. I know a lot of people who complained that Mario Sunshine was to
similar to 64- and my response was- So? They got the formula perfect- no need to mess with it...
Link is forever dead to me. The games for N64 were the s***. The NES, SNES- all the best games out for each system. And much lyke Mario- they perfected it with the 64 versions. Those games are the most fun to play- they just have it down. But thys new cell-shaded Link looks lyke crap. Yeah, I heard the game is still fun to play- but the story is lame and I’ve seen many a screen shot. I don’t want to play that! It looks lyke they geared it for the smallest of child or perhaps little girl... I think you can have Link try on dresses and braid his pony’s mane...

Yes, and why are Link's friggin' legs half the size of the rest of his body? Not even the old sprites of him were that super-deformed!
Too bad it comes with the never-released Master Quest, as that may be a good reason to buy the game -- not for Wind Waker.

Yeah- they obviously don’t think it has the "legs" to sell by itself- so they throw in Master Quest AND Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (The most fun Link game EVER)... I think that they are a bit worried about the poor feedback the game has gotten... When you think that it could of looked lyke Link in Super Smash Bros. Melee!

Haha, I havn't seen much of the new stuff, but they are remaking Ocarina of time with extra stuff AND AND AND one of my favorite DC games, Soul Calibour (The Soulcalibour 2 for PS2 was s***ty) Soul Calibour 2 for GC looks so damn good, not to mention bonus character LINK. LINK IN A REAL FIGHTING GAME Like, Soul Calibour 1 on DC was f***en awesome of awesomness!

They should make Counterstrike for GameCube. I would then get the GCN even if I had to kick a police officer in his family jewels. Umm, I would be in jail.

The new Zelda game...hek, each series has to have one fluke, no? Mario is Missing was a waste of money...Mario's Time Machine, should I honestly get out my sniper rifle?...and then Mario Teaches Typing...gyaa, they can't even say "Mario" right.
But the new GBA Zelda game is tight. I'm particularly interested in the Four Swords part...because you can unlock like a special area in the Pyramid of Power, where you fight MORE INTELLIGENT BOSSES!!!!! Joy...an intelligent Mothula is worse than a pack of LV100 Mews.

So, it’s based 100 years after the events that took place in Majora’s Mask- That would explain the Sister but it doesn’t explain why Link looks lyke he was drawn by a 4-year old who over-dosed on Ny-Quil. And it doesn’t defend the fact that the story is a real bad one! I’m a Sega Fan, but Nintendo has always been my #2- and since the fall of Dream Cast I’ve been right by Game Cube’s syde. It’s going down. They just don’t have enough games. Mario didn’t do as well as they thought. Pokemon is dead. The few exclusives they have just aren’t enough to boost sales and Link has been getting almost nothing but negative feedback from the fans. Just lyke Dream Cast and Sega Saturn- Playstation will crush it! And, yeah- that sucks hard. And I don’t want it to happen- but the way things are going it’s inevitable.

Well I havn't been much of a Sega fan, been a nintendo boy since I got the SNES, just when the Dreamcast came out, I didn't need to be a rocket scientist to relise its a f***en good and the best at the time console, I think the GC will go better then you think, look at it this way, they have probobly more hardcore fans then any other company, most of our generation has been stolen, and as we have grown up, the games have been growing up too, like the 64 in my opinion was Nintendo's worst console, but the GC is giving us lots of sexy stuff, Metroid Prime is a real pant wetter, and even better (depends on your style I guess) Is the damn Starcraft Ghost, that game looks like a better shooter then even Metroid Prime! the Sonic Adventure 2 on it carves up, and they are making a new one too (I think its just SA1 pretterised, but hey!) Godzilla Destroy all monsters is making me s*** my dacks, just waiting to find that game, The PSO looks drop dead sexy, Soul Calibour 2 for GC looks like the only Soulcalibour 2 to own, They are releasing some DBZ games later, and that'll suck all those DBZ fanboys in, and come on, if Nintendo starts to die, they got plenty of money to do some remajor comeback, and if they released a 3D pokemon game, every kid under the age of 12 will have it!This is Frenzal Rhomb Link, cause they are the besterest band ever.

I’m not speaking my opinion. I’m speaking fact. Nintendo has no money. Back awhile ago- they were seconds away from filing for bankruptcy but Pokemon hit and hit big! So they were back. Pokemon is dead now. It was a passing fad lyke Power Rangers. Yeah, they are still around- but make no where near what they used to. Not enough to save a system.
A lot of Metroid fans were pissed that Prime was a first person shooter. Destroy all monsters is the s***. But not everyone loves the Big G-Man. PS2 has sold more units than Game Cube and X-Box combined. Nintendo IS struggling. Fact- they are in trouble- they are not making money and they don’t have enough games out to turn profits.
Sega has always had the best console out. Master System was better than NES, Genesis was better than SNES, Saturn was better then PSX.
I the N64 was a good system. It was just so hard to program for- it never got any games. Look at it’s library compared to Playstations. My generation was not stolen- it was the original. I’m the Atari / Commodore 64 Gen.
If Nintendo has "more fans then any other company"- why don’t
their sales show that? Playstation is the dominant force. Any adult (defined as someone who has their own money to spend) I know with an X-Box or Game Cube has a PS2 as well- and only bought the other system for a few games. But all their extra money goes into the Playstation games- because they have so many. Same thing happened with the N64. People with a PSX bought one just for a few games. After tyme- they got rid of it, traded it away... lyke nothing. But they hung onto the PSX and all the many games they had bought for it.
And a new Pokemon game will not have "every kid under the age of 12" own one. It will have every kid under the age of 12 who owns a game Cube, and not a PS2, own one... Parents are not fond of buying multiple systems for their children. And most average working families couldn’t afford to if they wanted. And according to sales figures and production numbers- more houses have a PS2 then any other home system.
I was sorry to see Saturn go.
I was sorry to see Dream Cast go.
I was sorry to see N64 do the same thing I’d seen so many tymes.

Thats depressing, but probobly right, in my opinion the PS has always had crappy games (I liked FF7 though) The Xbox only has Halo... and Panzer Dragoon and Shenmue 2 which arnt even out yet. GC is even getting a FF, that would make a few of the PS nerds that love there FF chick characters get a cube. Whatever you people say, I will never believe that Nintendo has a money problem. But enough about money...we all know that GCN is the best, right? Right.
100 years...AFTER Majora's Mask?...so that means that Link had, um, children, unless they're claiming that he lives infinitely. I mean, come on! Their jumping around is confusing everyone! Look at how the Mario series were made: anyone could write a life story from just looking at how the games were sequenced (omit SMW2). Now Zelda games...come on! I mean, Ocarina of Time is first, then Majora's Mask, then Wind Waker, then The Adventure of Link? Okay, a little anachronism there.
And another thing that makes Zelda confusing.
You know, in Ocarina of Time there's a Temple of Time, right? That's where the Master Sword was kept. Now look at A Link to the Past, as well as all games that have Hyrule in them. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE TEMPLE OF TIME???? Furthermore, if only the Hero can open the Door of Time, how did they move the Master Sword to the Lost Woods...? I mean, at the ending to the Ocarina of Time, you clearly see Link closing the Door of Time and departing for good...so how did they ever get the Master Sword out of there?...
And finally, one interesting thing about Zelda: after OOT, no one has since seen Ganondorf. Whenever you see him, he's always his beast form, Ganon. Or am I incorrect? And why, after about several hundred years, is the princess still Zelda? I mean, they weren't like the French: Louis III, Louis IV...Louis XXIV, Louis XXV, Louis XXVI...I thought the Royal Family of Hyrule was a bit smarter.
End with a mysterious quote from Link to the Past: "Zelda is your ... ..." following which Link's uncle dies. WTF? That's just plain scary. And I don't want to know what the "... ..." was supposed to be.

Getting me cube tommorrow, I feel like a child, I havn't been this excited since the 64s release... and I didn't even give a poo bout the Cube when it came out :S... Though I was always looking forwed to the "dolphin" Haha, I been playing Sonic a fair wak today, just so I get the feel of a Hedghog on drugs, preparing for a day of hardcore gaming for tommorrow
And as for Zelda... Use your imagination, its probobly the point of it all.

Hm, why do half the people who play Zelda assume every game is in some grand sequence?
They are in several different, if similar, storylines:
Legend of Zelda
Zelda 2 --- make up one plot
Legend of Zelda: Triforce of the Gods ("Link to the Past" in English)
--- begins and ends right there, not connected to anything else
Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening --- is sort of a side-story which goes on the end of one of the plots
Zelda: OOT
Zelda: MM
Zelda: Oracle of (Ages/Seasons) and probably Wind Waker as well
--- are part of the most recent story and unrelated to past games.
About the quote: they somehow got it backwards. In Japanese it reads "Y-you are... the princess's ... ..."
Probably meant something like "only hope" or some likewise cheesy heroism thing; at any rate they never expound on it, so it must not have been too important...

GameCube cannot fade that easily. You really underestimate the power of Final Fantasy. I mean, there last few games kept breaking speed records for openning days. Also, since most of the hard-core FF fans fall under the category of adult, they'll be able to get their Game Cube to get the new FF.
As for Poke, you only go by what the masses say, Six. You forget that there are still thousands of people who care about it; it is just none of them are kids. Ever since Poke came out, it has been a consistent fact that most of its fans were actally between the ages of twelve and sixteen -- not exactly little children.
I'm not saying that Ruby and Sapphire will make Pokemon all the rage as it once was, but it will forever stay one of Nintendo's draws.

Why would they use the same name then? I can understand Final Fantasy...at least they have different names. But it's Link everywhere!!!! If the name's the same, then there must be some sort of relation.
I'm still going to stick with the theory that the early games are like millions of years later, when the name of "Link" comes up again in Hyrule.
In my opinion, it's still much simpler if you don't jump around creating entirely new quests. Like the Mario games, for example. They had to jump once to explain how he was born, but otherwise it follows in a pretty much understandable manner.
According to the rumor I've heard, they're planning to re-release Chrono for GameCube, no? Hek, they already have Crash Bandicoot on GBA, and that's a PlayStation thing! And Sonic! Who has the money problems?
