Just wondering, how many people play mmorpgs, and if so, which ones?

  I currently play 3:
  Astonia 3
Decent graphics, long game, nice people, and multiple quests.
  Found at Astonia.com
  Lost Mercenarys
Graphics not as nice, Free, Multiple quests, long game, unique exp system, HUGE QUEUE, still in development, and constant server problems (usually lag).
  Found at lostmercenarys.com
  Well of Souls
totally 2d, not as interactive, many worlds, many races to choose from, assortment of weapons, easy to master, quickly becomes boring however.
  found at synthetic-reality.com

A game I have heard is good is Ragnarok, from what I hear it is totally free, and one of the better free mmorpgs, however... I cannot install it on my computer so i do not have much info on it.
  found at Ragnarok.com

Another game I have heard of is Hellbreath, Not much info on it either... some people who have played it say it is similar to astonia.
  found at Helbreath.com (Not hellbreath.com)

In general, MMORPGs suck. I know that's a blanket statement, but usually a true one. It isn't the games' fault, tho', since they are usually good. It is the people who play them that make them suck.

The theory goes like this: if you have to pay for a game, implementors or the like will be less willing to kick out the players out. Thus, idiots are rampant. Free ones have this problem much less commonly, Unfortunately, the only multiplayer games that are free on-line are MUDs and not graphical RPGs.

I'm even skeptical about playing FFXI when it comes out. Of course, I didn't like the looks of it ever since it came out.

Actually the only one you had to pay for was Astonia 3... and actually it is a rather good system, for an offence you get karma, if you get 12 you are banned forever. Of course there are a few trouble makers, but they are usually gone for good within the next hour or two...

Well of souls is the game that has that problem actually, it is free... but it had problems with people hacking, and of course some people being "Rude" (Swear words, etc.) However there is no control over the players because there is noone to ban them or give any punishment.

Lost mercenarys has a system similar to Astonia 3, it has "staffers" and "gods" who watch over the game constantly for anyone abusing a bug, or causing disturbance. The punishments gods usually use is banning them, or muting them (making them unable to speak in public channels.)Some gods give cruel punishments... and some known for abusing their power however...

I have no information on Hellbreath or Ragnarok though, so basically... no clue if they have a bad system of justice or not.

Basically; both Astonia 3, and lost mercenarys has a bunch of people watching for freaks who like to cause trouble, and if they do something over and over again (Spam, cursing, etc) they get a punishment, until they are eventually banned.

PSO was a great game online, the only problem was to organise online who you'd team up with and when, other then that, there were also clans, they were neat too, I was in an aussie only clan, and it was bloody sweet, not a cunt among them! Then again PSO is prolly just a little different to FF11.... Is that any good? Is it out yet? Well I plan on getting PSO2 for GC when I get it.

Arrrghhjj,, online games can be such fun!
This is Frenzal Rhomb Link, cause they are the besterest band ever.

This is Space Ghost Link, cause hosts the best show ever, staring Zorak.

It is out in Japan right now, but I don't know if it is still the Beta version or the official release. I heard that they just added the summoning system, so it might be Beta (or just so bad they needed summoning to alleviate suck).

I don't quite know the system of play for FFXI. It is, however, an on-line RPG and inheritly weak on plot, which truthfully makes a Final Fantasy. So, this will be an FF unlike any FF before, but not in the way previous FFs differed from their own previous FFs... that made sense.
