If by "the end" you mean "The End" then I'd speculate there's quite a few lurking around, as seems to be trend. If by "the end" you mean the END, then I have no idea. I personally haven't visited in quite some time. If by "the end" you are referring to the Apocalypse, I think you may have grabbed the wrong preposition, and I'm pretty sure that there aren't many here who will be raptured. Best way to find out, start an interesting topic and see who responds. Post in REWS. Challenge someone in BD. Finish your gym. Wait, am I talking about you or me now? I'm not sure anymore.

Poor Blade. His story on the REWS went the way of, well, stories on the REWS How ironic. Or expected. Probably that one.
Can't gripe about that stuff, tho'. I gotta concentrate on tidying up for the returning flux of schooltime visitors. Who knows what sort of yearly new member RE may get this year at the cost of five elder-types?

I personally consider myself very active on BD, as whenever I have a decent, secure connection, I usually pop in at least daily to check the conditions of any current battles, pending challenges, and/or tournaments. Other than that...I read the forums, but I'm usually disinclined to post very much. That's just me.

Notice how older members have been slipping off into, well, somewhere else.. possibly Canada.. Yet we still don't gain new [active] members?
We'll have to sit around, drowning in laze , and wait for new people to be critical of.
Or we could actually, you know, recruit some.
Not by spamming everywhere we go, or holding hostages.
No. This would call for something less idiotic/fun, and more humane, I'm sorry to say.

I don't know how many lame, low quality things/sites/what-have-you I've seen be elevated to heights they in no way deserved just because the face behind it had friends, and their friends had friends, and thus the whad of suckness balled and rolled.
And of course, by this, I mean "websites more popular than mine" I'm sorry. Stick, copy & paste fests, and sprite comics aren't funny. They are a very, very boring medium. You don't need the visuals. Just write a story! Gah!

Recruiting probably wouldn't work. From my experience, most people on this site keep their membership hidden. Like its a dark secret or somethin'.

Y'know, I'm thinking back to other times an established member tried to bring in friends. It always seemed to end in disaster. The new member just rushed in, acted like they were an elder like the few other people active at the time, and typically acted really dickishly. They would then promptly and uncaringly vanish in a puff of smoke.
Lemme see, there was Xerces Chimera, Mad Mario, I think D-K brought in some loserly blokes, and then there was that whole Celia, I think, who was someone I knew from another community, who acted like this place was the dregs when no one knew what exclusive abbreviations meant.
What this place really needs to get more memberness is higher search engine visibility. This is typically how a breakdown goes of entries from search engines:
Top - Very many searches for "reality's end" itself. Nice to see my domain name is paying off. "What's the address to Reality's End again? Oh, Reality's-freakin'-End!" There are some other things that stole my name, but I think it is clear from the Google-blurb that this is neither a punk band nor an aforementioned crappy sprite comic (which I now think is deceased).
Middle - Searches that I or other higher members did specifically searching this site (and specifically the forums) for some particular mention or moment.
Bottom - There are always tons of search times that lead people to this site that only occur once, and they are always really strange, entirely off-topic queries that snag some awkward conversation on this site. Why, every coupla months, Gobbo's little "What's the dealio-dealio" out-of-no-where ramble draws in some unfortunate soul.
There really aren't any hits for mythology on this site. This could be because most of the featured creatures are obscure and no one searched for them, or it could just be because no one likes mythology online. (That certainly would seem to be the case at this site and several others given the lackluster wealth of knowledge displayed on the 'net.) RE comes up in lots of image searches, but that is about it.
I keep trying to get RE into gaming portals, but the moderating bastards at dmoz and the like never accept RE or even my individual subsites into gaming portals.
The lack of friends is devastatin', though. Time was, you could put in my internet identity and pull up all sorts of sites and communes I was a part of. Now that my the days of Azure glory are gone, all references to me seem to be, too. The old RE League sites are finally being snuffed out, too, so I lost a lot of the word-of-mouth foot traffic.
Quite frankly, I wonder how anyone finds this site at all any more! My guess is that they don't, which really would explain a lot.

Bah, we've had the emo discussion here before (with much success). Personally, I prefer not to talk about them, as it will only enrage my blood, and it only gives them the attention they crave. I mean, sure they claim to want to fade into the background and just be left alone, or whatnot, but it's obviously a ploy for affection. Emo is just another word for needs-more-hugs. So do today's youth a favor and hug an emo today. But be careful, for all we know, it may be contagious.

Nah, I think RE is something people need to discover for themselves (granted I didn't but that is beside the point), like I was on BD long before I even used the forums and I wasn't in to pokemon as much so I didn't really venture into the league either, but now I like to think of myself as an active forum, bd (well not so much) and REWS member. Y'could say this site has a particular caliber of user, that of the 5 year member or some type of anti-moron person.
How ironic. Or expected. Probably that one.
