Funny you should ask. I happen to collect quite a few different card series, but unfortunately for you, no Street Fighter.
  -Wyvern
  -Pokemon
  -some Digimon (for my D-Arc)
  -Marvel Over Power
  -MagiNation
  -Guardians
  -Dragon Storm
I'm probably leaving something out, but that is all I can think up of at the time. I also used to collect super hero cards. I wonder whatever happened to all of those....

i collected only 1 type of card, and that was pokemon......my god what a waste of time. it was fun for a while then it died out and left me with all these cards worth nothing that i spent literally a fortune on.

  *posts sign*
SELLING A FEW THOUSAND POKEMON CARDS, MANY RARE AND UNIQUE CARDS RARELY FOUND ELSEWHERE, ENTIRE BINDER IS SELLING FOR $100.00

maybe i'll make some money out of it that way..........but then again i doubt someone is that stupid...i mean rich to buy the useless...um i mean useful cards.

anyway just today i relized it looks like a new card craze is out there.....i don't know how people are stupid enough to make the same mistake......i think it's pronounced Yu Gi Oh trading card game. i guess some people don't relize they will burn their cards for heating later on just like their pokemon cards.
i think i saw one of them, it didn't look different at all from the pokemon cards except for a few slight differnces.........not to mention isn't Yu Gi Oh a show on wb for little kids?!?! it disgusts me to see other 14 year olds walking around with those....... :/
i bet this post was a stupid one....well maybe...

You are right, but so, so wrong.

Remember, over in the land o' da risin' sun, cartoons are for all people, from lil' children to adult. However, in the States and such, 'toons are looked down upon, for some idiotic reason, and viewed only for children. Lousy country.

So, over here it may be geared towards a younger audience, but there it has a much, much more mature one. Plus, it's just a card. And an amazingly complicated one from what I understand. Frankly, I'd be surprised if a 14 year old could even play the game. Heck, I'm shocked anyone can. o_O

Well my Street fighter cards are f***ing old, I collected them when I was five, its amazing the condition there still in, and if you wanna know how old, well "the new challengers" were not even around back then! (new challengers meaning Cammy, DJ, Fielong and Tomahawk) The newest additions then where Bison and his gang... Did they ever make streetfighter cards based on the story? With Po Lin and Goken and all that crap? If they did it didn't appear down here, I was the biggest Street fighter maniac ever when I was young, even though I have never owned a Street fighter game!

Ahhh, yes. I too have fallen under the blade of pokemon cards. But now I just keep them locked away, awaiting the day I actually meet an idiot stupid enough to buy them! From now on for me, I'll probably just look at my Magic TG cards. I'll never buy any new ones, but o well. Damn cards!

...oddly I've never fallen prey to these money spinning things such as Sticker Albums or Pokémon cards

(I did buy some Pogs when I was younger, but that was more to avoid sticking out the crowd, I only bought about 2 little-packs, and didn't bothwr collecting them, I did wind up with about twice as many as I started with tho' as I always seemed to win games a lot)

*Sits up on his high throne and laughs at the puny mortals who fell victim to the money spinning merchandise*

Madgoblin: Please explain this to my dad (Who effectivly banned me from watching animé because it was "kids TV" (Come off it, Escaflowne isn't THAT childish)) - after making my feelings VERY clear to him, we're now at a point where "I can watch or record animé if he isn't around" - which is hard thing toa chieve when you consider my dad is retired, and spends all his time at home, occasionaly I can record the film-animé that come on at like 12pm, assuming:
  A) I know what it is (if I record somwthing I don't know much about and it turns out weird, crap or pornogrpahic then it's trouble)
  B) Dad doesn't want to stay up and watch "Carpenter's monthly" or soemthing equally crappy

I never fell victim to anny ploy; I actually enjoy collecting the Pokemon CG. I hope I can pick up again one day. I gots to have my :@ Oh yeah!
Does your father know that anime is ultra-violent and prone to nudity? That would really one-eighty his childish viewing on it.

Hey! I like Magic cards! I also have a few Pokemon cards... but something about them is sorta annoying. I guess it's just too hard to get good cards, but my Magic deck, made of a premade deck, a booster pack I bought, and a booster pack that I had received in some magazine a while back, is fairly decent. And my brother brought home a Yu-Gi-Oh game boy game... it's sort of simple, but every card has like individual effects on all different cards, so you have to know exactly what you're doing, or you'll probably lose, since the descriptions on the cards aren't very helpful. I just throw strong monsters my brother had gotten at the people anyways.... it seems to work most of the time.

Thats the problem Kero... he can't make his mind up - his 2 main reasons for banning me are:
  1) It's very childish the daytime TV shows (well most of them are (Pokémon, Digimon, Yu-gi-thingy etc) - I never did get to see Gundam Wing - I did see a couple of episodes of DBZ, but wasn't vastly impressed.

  2) In dad's exact words "Those Mangy-thingies are just full of blood and sex and stuff and I don't want you watching that kind of stuff"... DUDE - I'm nearly 18 , 1 more month and I could legally go down the video store and a rent a porno movie if I wanted, or go out and buy alcohol and stuff - a little bit of cartoon violence isn't exactly gonna "warp my little mind" is it?...

...he's also got his priorities SOOO wrong... he worries about the harm a little TV show violence could do - but activ;ly supports the fact I'm getting a motorcycle soon... which hurts more? - a violent TV show, or a motorcycle accident?

um, i vote that a motorcycle would hurt you just a little more :P

anyway, that's just insane, most anime isn't that bad, in fact even the one's on adult swim on cartoon network aren't bad at all. one called coyboy beebop which as supposed to be one of the goriest ones barely had any violence notable of being considered bloody. and none of that "porn" stuff on it. im only 14 and i see anime at least once a week. (more if im not busy) so...that means your father is either totally insane or is way too over protective.

i can see it, you being 30, and your father saying your too young to watch anime. MWAHAHAHA *evil grin*

Sanis, I don't think you realize that even on Adult Swim, we stupid Americans must tame anime big-time for public viewing. I know for a fact that Cowboy Bebop has more animated gore in it than would be allowed in most R-Rated movies over here (average by Jap standards ;) ) and I think it's also got a bit of skin in it, too, which they allow on normal TV stations over in Japan.

Ryuu: You are gonna be 18 and can buy booze? Dude, I am so moving where ever you live!

Ow, I hurt my bottom. Er...

Hehe - luckily the one safe place I have is the computer, hence I'm up here so much. Dad doesn't understand computers well enough to keep tabs, and I agree with all those views anyway... just wait til I get cable *watches the Anime download sites intently*

As for "where I live" - in the UK the laws are:
  - Sex at 16
  - Tobacco at 16
  - School leaving age 16 and minimum working age
  - Moped/small motorbike at 16
  - Full driving lisence at age 17
  - Alcohol age 18
  - Legally able to marry (with consent) at 18
  - Rent/View porno legally at 18*

*I don't get why porn is illegal until you're 18, but you can try it out first hand at 16

They actually have an age restriction on sex over there? Is that age-of-consent, or is that just it-ain't-legal-til-now like booze and guns?

What I find strange is how everything over in the United Kingdoms has a lower age restriction on it except for driving. That makes a lot of sense -- seperate driving and alcohol by one full year Dead

Yip, remember - cars in Europe are by default, manual transmission - younger age groups won't be able to handle a car with a manual transmission too welll, hence the age is higehr than in the US - it also results in much lower joy-riding and car accidents than the US.

The age limit on sex is the age of consent - but if one of the parties is under the age of consent, then court cases will invariably go against the older of the 2 should one of them say soemthing - false or otehrwise; hence it's effectivly illegal.

One side-note is in the UK, the age of homosexual "stuff" is 18 - and it is also illegal to activly "teach" kids anything about it in schools; one ofthe gay politicians though, recently attempted to over-rule this, and put homosexuality into the curiculum... fortunatly he was over-ruled... *phew* ... like we don't already have enough of them around (I'm not agaisnt them, I just don't think it's soemthing that should be promoted as "normal" behaviour)

Yay! Ryuu is one o' da good guys!

Seriously, 'teaching' that (how exactly would they go about that anyways? saying "this is how you can disgrace your family and become a being of pure sexual lust who bypasses the intended function! also, you get poo on your w-" ... yeah, that makes sense) would just not be right. I mean, it's funny (or is it severely disturbing? ... yeah, its the latter) when they try to teach a Psychology class about paraphilias and say that gay isn't one (even though it exhibits all of the signs of one) and that it should be perfectly normal.
... ie: "we are forced to say this for political correctness! don't sue!"

Pfft, I swear. ... wait, was I going somewhere with this all? Hmm, er... ... er... That's some messed up stuff going down there, Ryuu. I mean, once I remember hearing about a tiny nudge to pull something like that in the states, but NO one at all supported the bill and it flopped big time.

And, seriously, it's bad enough for the teacher (or whoever) to try to teach sex to a bunch of children, but can you imagine them teaching lesbianism? I mean, that would have ruined it for me forever! Big Smile

...Ithink what they were thinking of introducing was basicly like information of gay intercourse, and of gay relationships; which it doesn't take a rocket scientist, is probably not something you should teach kids as an "alternative" to straight, since gayness ISN'T an alternative, it's an accidently messed up-mindset (read on for more info')

  [Facinating but pointless insight]
Did you know, modern research into homosexuality in animals, has found that gay animals - no matter what species (Sheep, Cow, Baboon) all have a birth-defect, that effected (or rather failed to effect) the amigdala.

All creatures (humans inclusive) are created female (yes, believe or not guys, we were once girls Slanted Mouth ) - when the body is flood with testoterone in the womb (if it's to become male) the body then changes in places to create the "male" variant. In the gay animals they've found that the amigdala failed to mutate to the male version (or in the case of lesbians, it was accidently exposed to testosterone), so the amigdala ignores testosterone responses at seeing cute girls, but jumps at the idea of a bloke. (and visa versa in lesbians).

They havn't done the research on humans yet, but it's almsot certainly the same deal. Basicly this means that gayness ISN'T a genetic thing (like Gay's liek to make out) - but rather a common defect found in msot mammals, to do with how the male body is created.
