Forsooth! Eoster is a time where all faiths can come together, disregard the crap we say it is about, and eat marshmallow chicks and cocoa bunnies that are the symbols of the spring goddess.

Drop the sarcasm; I don't think anyone honestly cares enough to even complain about the commercialism anymore, so please don't try to start a trend.
Easter: time for warm, fuzzy thoughts and making yourself ill from high sugar intake. Unfortunately, I qualify for neither since my idea of a wake-up is 2 cups of sugar in my oatmeal. I don't get sugar-highs.
Warm and fuzzy, maybe. Harassing my cat will have to do.
EDIT: Too bad I still suffer from grumpiness when tired... blast!

Correction: Protestants make it all about super-fuzzy happy-time candy-isms.
The Jewish have Passover -- prayer and fasting. We Catholics have Lenth -- prayer and fasting. Protestants have... candy. Al Franken, Conan O'Brien, and Andy put that in some great prospective one night long agos.
It is difficult to destroy the "true meaning" of these holidays, however, when their "true meaning" is actually some pagan festivity. I do believe this was already covered in the Christmas topic, but all of the things we do peripheral to the religious meaning of a holy day is usually what the pagans did on the day to make the Christians keep it around after converting.
So, I guess to be fair, they do not really need to keep the Christian connotation of the day, but we should at least demand that they start the hedonistic worship of ancient deities instead.
I mean, just to be fair.

sorrie i was late on this, but i didnt really do anything but visit my girlfriend...took pictures... ate maroni and cheese with tuna...very intresting..

Hmm, that's very interesting. I think I speak for all when I say that this revelation is very intriging. I mean, maroni tuna cheese? I wants me some o' dat!

But yeah, for Christmas they used the whole Three Wisemen thing. In Spain they do it a little less Pagan-style. We Americans are sooo greedy... but who cares? candy and presents!!!
