Flop or no, I look forward to whatever minty has planned. If nothing else, it will provide forum conversation for a while.

Whoa... how old is this post?! I don't even remember this one! Worse yet, at that time I sounded like a minor newb. Though, I see a still had liked annoying Minty back then; so the newb-me and the sage-me can't be THAT different.

  ***new***

just realized, this post was from two years ago! that's just friggin' crazy man! Don't most forums DELETE posts that just sit around after a while? I kinda know why I've noticed... the subtle differences in my speech from then and now, though. At that time I was still in your average school that required you to know nothing of computers. Now I go to an Academy where I learn about Computer/Electrical engineering... obviously I must have gotten a bit more intelligent over that time; the fact that I'm online about 2/5 of my day probably also added to that factor. All I gotta say is... I'VE TRAVELLED BACK IN TIME! AHHHHHHH!!!

No more! We've only finished act one and I'm ready to hurt someone! *shakes madly* bluty stupid soothsayer. ;__; evil conspirators. Pi should have killed him. Pi day is March 14 (3.14 haha) so maybe Shakespeare and Plutarch made a boo-boo and Caesar really died on March 14th from too much pi. St. Patrick's Day is the 17th too, isn't it? Hmmm...It's all good. Happy middle(ish) of March holidays!

Whoa, it is the seventeenth! For a while there, I was under the impression that it was the Sixteenth... prolly because of tournaments. Lousy having to start them early to account for delays...

Um... Shakespeare had nothing to get wrong. The Ides were around long before him; they are simply the Roman system of marking months. Much like we have ordinal dates (first, second, third.... thirtieth), the Romans calculated dates by three days during the month: Calends (the First), Nones (the Fifth), and the Ides (the Thirteenth). The rule breaks down on fourth months out of the year:
July, October, March, and May
The Nones are on the seventh day
Days were said by the amount of days prior to one of the aforementioned times; this system really sucked when calculating the last half of the month because you had huge amounts of time from before the Calends of the up-coming month. Things were really made strange by the fact that you had to include the day you were counting before... strangeness all around.

So you see, there is nothing special about Ides or the Ides of March other than it is one of the four freakish months and Julius Caesar was killed then, which is why I likes it!

Oh yeah, as for deleting old posts, yes, several forums do in fact have this practice; however, those are the types of forums that receive incredible quantities of postitude. For example, my motherboard of Azure Heights clears out its Karp Park quite often because of all the junk that gets thrown about in there. The rest of their boards, however, are able to maintain posts from when I used to go there, never once requiring a deletion. Text files are pretty cheap in terms of memory; only lots of stupid posting require action to be taken, action I hope that I shall never have to take.

And my study hall teacher says I'm wasting my time here. I learn more on these boards than I do in most of my classes. Occasionally. Of course, what do I expect, going to a small town high school with an enrollment of 160. I don't even get to take a computer programming class till next year, and it conflicts with ag metal I'm depressed now.

Um, my high-school was larger than yours and did not even have a freakin' computer programming course, so what are you complaining about?
High schools normally do not have such courses, and even when they do, they are complete wastes. I mean, Learn C++ in 24 Hours covers more than those courses could cover in five years time -- seriously.

And what do you mean "what will happen to you," Boyachi? It is the freakin' Ides of March, not Friday the blutty Thirteenth. The only thing that happens on this day is getting stabbed multiple times in the back, and comparatively, what happened to you is much, much better.

The best way to learn programing is to go down to your library and check out those books and save yourself $50.

The only computer books my library has are about 10 years old (DOS for Dummies). I s'pose if I had easy access to the internet, I could find some teach-it-yourself website, but that won't work for me since I can't do it on my own time.

What do you play and how hard did you bash it up? Every year we have a big huge band festival (I think it's across the whole state) that is the biggest event of the whole year. At the prefestival concert, which was less than a week before the real concert, someone popped out of a doorway while I was on my way back to the band room after the concert. I totally messed up my sax's octave key, but was able to bend if back so that it worked semi-okay. That, and I lost the mouthpiece cover, which is bad because I always smash my reeds without it. The next day it was worse than ever, even though I hadn't touched it since the day before. Even when I held the key down it was still messed up. I tried someone else's neck piece and it was still botched up, so I had to rush it to the repair place as soon as I got home. You know how long those places usually take just as well as I do (or at least should by now) so I was having a spaz attack. When I got there the guy took my right away and fixed it in less than a quarter hour, and didn't even charge. After really jamming on it to make sure it was fine he said that the keys had been leaking, and that was it. I bought a new mouth piece cover, went home to practice, and sounded better than ever. The best part of all was when I heard a clank inside my sax. I thought I'd broken something else, but it turns out that the mouth piece cover had some how sneaked its way inside. While this story had a happily ever after the stress was more than enough to make people run in fear of me (more than usual).
Anyway, just take your instrument in ASAP and tell them you need it right away. Music people usually understand stuff like that, so if you tell them the story I'm sure you'll be fine. Good luck! ^_~

MM! I remember hearing about that...so interesting. ^___^' You kinda confussed me though...the ides were the 15th, right? Teacher said the ides were exactly the middle, so...does she know what she's talking about?

Did anybody look at the creations of my boredom from my last post? I thought they were funny. ^__^'

The Ides are in the middle of the Roman months; we do things a little differently now. Or at least, they were in the middle to the Roman's eyes. They did not make very much sense.

Band competition, eh? I remember Writer saying how he had partaken in a Universal Band Competition... which involved the whole of a small part of the state of Texas How universal is that?

Um... sorry to ruin your joke, but I found out that "UIL" actually stands for "University Interscholastic League."

So... uh, no "Universal." I kinda wish it was "universal," though. That's a lot easier to spell.

I play the clarinet. I have no idea what happened, but some how a huge friggin chunk was taken out of my mouth piece since the last time I opened it. I couldn't find the all the peices, which makes me think someone took it out of the case without my knowledge, but my private teacher loaned me an old mouth peice that sounds pretty sweet, even though I couldn't get air out of it the first time I blew on it. Sadly, the mouth piece isn't made anymore, and i don't think he's willing to sell it.
I really don't have a story that rivals that, but one of the trombone players, freshman, of course, got his finger caught in his mute.
Oh, no wait! The funniest thing ever was during the 9/11 assembly. I almost got my @$$ kicked for laughing. The instruments were put on the side of the football bleachers. In the middle of everything I hear honking, and then this 'TANG!' A goose had crapped on one of the tubas. IT WAS A RIOT!!!
THIS IS MY 250th post!!!!!! I think this calls for a celebration! Maybe....
