Actually when I was really young my father had an atari, we had a f***load of games, yes one was frogger and others included a tank game were you could jump over land mines and pot holes, and I liked a game with people jousting on emus, centipede, a really gay miki mouse game...

Sorry, there was too many to remember, but after atari and C64 the first thing I played was Street Fighter!

HAHAHAHAHA! I remember the Atari! I used to love to play Pit Fall all the time. Of course, I was like 3 back then, but I still remember it. So, MG, you can remember playing the SNES FFs, right? Did anyone else here ever actual play the very first FF?

No, I had an atari, but all the games were pretty s***. After the Amiga I got a commadore 64... but after that the next games machine I got was the SNES.

Thar we go! I hadn't put in the function to view a topic with over twenty posts in it yet apparently ^_^'
  Heh heh heh...
Anywho, I own the first FF and have played it many times. I just bought it last year, tho', and haven't had much time to play it, so I haven't beat it yet. I plan on beating it over Christmas break (I can't spend all of my time on this web site, ya know).
I own FF, FF Mystic Quest, VII, VIII, IX, and Adventure for Game Boy. I still have to get II, III, and the Anthology (for the soul purpose of getting V; I know they re-released II and III on PSX, but I like the corny old school RPG dialogue better... and I don't trust the remakes).

I gotta ask a little something....im getting a gamecube and since you guys seem to know what your talking about i'll ask ya what game i should get 4 my gamecube......also maybe it'll start up some type of arguement which ya guys (for some reason i'll never understand) will like, afterall ya did say you wanted some type of arguement......

  GAMES:

(1.)Luigi's Mansion (well Mario/Luigi games are good.)
(2.)Super Smash Bros. Melee (I did like the old one...)
(3.)Super Monkey Ball (Well the concept of the game seems kinda wierd...)
(4.)Pikmon (well it kinda sounds a tiny bit interesting but it's a little wierd, and maybe gets boring after a while)

i bet this post was a stupid one....well maybe...

Those all seem like good choices. Luigi's Mansion isn't my cup of tea, but that's just me.

One game you have to get, when it's available, is Eternal Darkness. It will prolly be one of the few more mature games on the GC.

I know someone who owns Super Monkey Ball, and they say it is one of the best games ever!
I don't own a Cube yet, so I cannot speak from experience.
I know SSB:M is supposed to rock beyond compare, and Luigi's Mansion is better than initial looks would tell.
  Pikmin looks super kurazii-fun.

Well, I finally discovered the magic of the "next page" function, so I guess I can participate in this conversation again. How did you manage to get FF a year ago? Ebay? I've had it for a long time, and I never managed to beat it. I don't have much patience, and I just can't sit around and gain experience for 5 hours strait, which is pretty much what you have to do throughout the entire game. As for which GameCube game to buy, it's a very hard choice. Almost all of them are really cool games, it's just that there's no super cool, must-have game out of all of them for us poor people to buy as a first game. I personally prefer Luigi's Mansion, because it's the closest to a good action game that they have. My brother's are also probably going to get Rogue Squadron and SSB:M, so we'll have a good collection at Christmas. Unfortunately, I have to wait until then to play anything.... I have to settle just for that cool intro scene for now.

I would still classify the C64 pretty damn old... but some of those games had Sony Playstation quality games....

I actually purchased my copy of FF from Record Exchange with its instruction manual for like five dollars. It works great and everything.

I used to play atari, but that was in the diaper days, so it was all lots of pretty colours and "bleep" sounds!
The commodor 64 was what I played when I started school, and the SNES I got about a 2 years before the 64.

Yeah, on-line playing. That doesn't suck. It's not as though a clear majority of people who play those games have their entire lives bent of being jerks for no good reason at all. </sarcasm>
Seriously, tho', Eternal Darkness is an odd sort of game. You have an insanity meter in it. You go through time, and instead of trying to stay alive, you have to try and stay sane.
I think it is sorta like a Silent Hill type game: puzzle and action. I'm not sure, however...

Sounds pretty cool, but Shenmue is the most interactive game ever and is the closing thing to reality then any other game

Trust me, SSBM is worth the wait. I just hope that you have an extra controller and someone else who doesn't get mad when you beat them, otherwise it won't last long. It's still a decent one-player game, but that doesn't last very long.

Well, it will be good 1 player now. There is suppose to be a one player... er, "story mode" (i think that's what they called it) where you take one of the characters through a sorta side-scrolling adventure and reek havoc in all of the characters lands! (ie: Link trashing up baddies in the Mushroom Kingdom with his deadly blade). The thing I read wasn't exactly the clearest, but whatever it shall be, it sounds fun.

Will SSBM be 3D or just another 2D game... anyways I don't think it could possibly beat powerstone 2... thats just impossible!
Well its impossible until a "Powerstone 3" comes out!

I think it's called Adventure mode. It's pretty cool, but it's the same thing over and over. No matter how many times you go through Adventure mode, it's pretty much the same. At least most of the time it is. They also have the classic mode, which is the same thing as it was in the other game, except now the opponent's are random. So you can fight 30 Donkey Kong's now, a Giant Yoshi, and Metal Ness. Also, there's a event mode, where you go through different "events", each with certain circumstances. Like one is just Mario vs. Bowser, another is one that you get to pick your character, and you have to fight against two Princess Zeldas, and you have to knock them out of the ring while they're transformed into Sheik. The list goes on and on, because they added a whole bunch o' stuff to it. And it is pretty much in 2D, but the graphics are 3D, if you know what I mean.

Still a 2D game, well it may be good, but it wont be to Powerstone 2 standards... event game? rightio, the only reason smash bros got anywhere was cause of the charicters in it, I hate how people think just cause its made by a certain group or has certain charicters it is instantly the best! I mean, I went through a PS2 magazine in the shop the other day and most of the games were below DC quality... It is quite amazing how awesome the Dreamcast is really! But in the RPG section (I think) it sucks ass, Adventure games, well it has Shenmue, PSO and the Sonic Adventure games (Shenmue is better and all but the gameplay in Sonic Adventure is beyond it!) in shootem ups there is House of the dead 2, Resident Evil: code veronic (my friend told me the DC version is biggera and bettera then the PS2 version.). In the Beat em up department DC rulz over all with Soulcalibour and DOA2. But the DC rocks one department like anything, the multiplayer madness it has my fav, Powerstone, Bomberman Online and a heap more crazy arcade games that I wanna get!
