Very Angry. Very, Very Angry. Do you people (you know who you are) not read the messages in bright red. Do you not realize that red generally means important. "The Twilight's Last Gleaming" has recieved three votes. The last post for "Do tot trust the unknown" has recieved two. Now, comparing the two, one was only a writer's note, the other a constructive piece of writing which took longer than ten seconds to read. Now I have nothing against the writer's note, it was a fine note, but surely it's not quite as interesting as an actual story. This is only an example. There are posts which have recieved almost ten votes yet others in the same story have recieved only two. If you don't like it vote low don't ignore the bloody thing. Please, anybody, tell me in what way a note explaining that a story will be here soon is more interesting than an interactive story. Vote people, please.

  I feel better now

Also, just as a suggestion for B&W when and if you get time, maybe a little rating view link on each post. Instead of having a B&W account have just a sign in which only allows the author of the post and people who have rated it to view it. However, this may be a little impractical and I'm sure you have enough work to do as it is. But if there ever is time and if it isn't a stupid idea and if there aren't better ideas and if it's worth doing then maybe just something to think about. Not life and death though.

  Can't say I don't agree with that.

Typically, it seems that very little people even bother to go to BnW. I think the highest vote count for any post is about a 9 or 10, and that number has dwindled down as people lost interest.

Thing about the "Tot" to "Twilight" comparision, tho', is, in my opinion, some people prolly just pick their areas of interest. Posts like "Blaster" and "Tot" (yeah, I know that's not its name, but, c'mon, typo in title is just kinda funny) had very weak starts, thus I'd assume people probably just don't care about them. However, a new topic gets people's attention, and they say, "Hey, this could be great!" And, then, they find out its just someone saying they are going to be making a post. ... How that got 3 votes without being BLAM'D! is beyond me. I'm sorry, but, yeah, it sounds good and all... but you don't say, "Stuff to come" in the BW area. That would have been a more suitable post for, you, this board.

Back to the no-votes, tho'. Kinda hard not to blame them. In the pre-BW way, people would just not read topics that didn't appeal to them, and you can't really blame them for not. If its lame or not your thang, why waste the time.

But, yes, they really should be voting more. There has been a boom in activity, thankfully, that hasn't been seen since BW first opened up, so hopefully that will draw people back to caring about it.

Or, it will lead to the apocalypse. Either is fine.

All I can say on my part is that I vote on the recent additions. The problem with that is that I still get the error message saying I already voted on them when I haven't (and no double-clicking, either). I don't know if my votes are secretly still being submitted or if they aren't being counted.

I have got ya down for fourteen votes in BnW in all, Draggy, mostly the big stories. You aren't trying to vote for each one of your accounts, are you? 'Cause the program is smarter than to let you do that.

You all already know how much I hate not voting. 'Tis why friggin' Twilight and Pancake are still not six feet under and why Blaster is. Well, people not voting and idiots having their run of it, I guess.

A log-in viewer would be helpful, but terribly obtrusive for the layout. Not only would you have to download a whole snippet that is only useful to one person -- the author -- on pages that already ain't exactly speedy, but how many times would a person actually check their votes? Definantly less than once a day. Barely ever, from what I could reckon.
Then, there is a whole interface problem. If you don't go to view everything individually, you have to look at all posts from all history, which will really get up there. You have to take into account a segue screen to narrow the results which just takes up more time, interface, and programming, and for what? To find out if people hate you?

A general log-in screen is going to be made, and it will display your overall author score. Vote-viewing will be something much more open than just to authors, prolly anyone who has even voted on the topic. How they are going to do that, I have no idea for the aforementioned reasons that non-software-engineers never take into consideration.

And, as always, no, I do not want to hear any suggestions... at the penalty of death.... the same penalty as for not voting.

I'm only using my master account for all of my voting. On that note, I finally managed to submit a vote that cleanly went through on the newest addition to "War of Shadows", which had 0 vote before I voted.

I'll probably just try to remember to vote on new additions and hopefully things'll still go OK despite the error messages.

(I'm the only one how care about this board)

Here's a topic on the subject of voting: How'syall voting for stuff? What's the primary objective to the score bestowed?

Do you just say, "I think this was a good/bad post" and rate accordingly, or do you break it down into catagories like consistency, interest, spelling, and appropriateness?

I know I'm kinda a stickler on the whole spelling and punctuation thing. The occational one is understandable, but when it's a recurring problem, it just takes me out of the post Dead bah.

If this made sense, I'm obviously not trying hard enough.

I gotta say it has to be slightly enjoyable. That and 2 meny speling mitsakes wil driv me nuts. I'd say I prefer plot advancement...but sometimes that just isn't possible. I have to say, sometimes I'd like to rate mine, only because I'll look at it after I'm done and realize how much certain things suck. Oh, and making partial sense is an important factor, even in RoR, but obviously not as much as long as it is um...nevermind.

My side is dead, my beliefs have been forgotten, my youth has left me and my innocence was slaughtered infront my eyes. Why should I care when it is only my life on the line?

I agree, it's got to be enjoyable. I generally ignore the minor grammar and spelling errors. If it's too short or adds very little to the story I usually give a lower rating. Also, if it leaves out major bits of the story or ignores parts it deserves a low rating. Rating your own post would be good if done honestly but some people would just rate themselves high which would mean bad posts not being killed.
