Black & White
More than a year in the making -- or sitting around collecting dust in the very least -- Black & White, previously known as Bestiary Warrior, is released to the Reality's End public! Sort of!
This mug has got all the IAS features you wanted and none of the garbage you hated. This means that the RP forums can go back to what they were designed for -- not RPs.
I was shocked to find out that B&W worked fine in its state from the previous Ides of March. I simply added compatibility with more than just BD accounts, and it was set.
These are the initial features B&W features:
Anonymous posting: You don't know who you're reading so that members cannot be biased when...
Author Voting: Readers can vote on an author's additions in anonymity. Especially poor posts will just be flat-out removed! Especially sucky authors can be prevented from spreading their talents ever again!
Story Locking: No more "Hey, I'm adding right now" posts. B&W locks out others from adding for you. Better yet, the maximum time someone can reserve a story for themselves is six hours -- sorry, Vin, but you ain't overnighting a reserve any more!
So there... it is... stuff!

Funny thing is, despite the efforts at anonymousity, you just know someone is gonna make a reply to this saying, "I'va made a newa storeee on ita," and completely void that. Heh heh.
Well, not like I can say much. My first plans for this thing are gonna be so predictable that anyone should be able to figure out its my doings. I mean, the title alone will give that away.
Hooray for predictability.

Looks like separate additions need a little more spacing, though.

* calculates time *
Looks like the spacing was added the exact minute you made this post. How convenient is that?
Whoo! One story so far! That is all I need. I just didn't want to make it all official-likes without having anything to read on the page.
B&W will be posted in the news box tomorrow, and any decently sized story will get shoved in the box as well. I think the location of B and W in the Stuff section will hurt its activity a bit... although not as much as only being able to be reached through the RP forum

Ah, shoot. I forgot which posts I've voted on and which I haven't. Do I have to do a trial-by-error method to find out?

Prolly not. I am going to make a wave voting system by which you use a select box to the side, pick everything you want, and then submit at the bottom.
Why waste precious time on blamming this crap?

Wow...an interesting innovation for those willing to poke through their creative writing talent, which I have a negative amount of...

I noticed that after you vote, you can see an author's name. Is this intentional, or a glitch, as I thought that posts to stories were to remain anonymous.

I think this was already mentioned somewhere...
The "anomynous" posting is only to prevent bias in voting. Once you vote, it really doesn't matter if you know who made it.
Also, and I think this is coming soon, the current score on a story will also be hidden until voting to prevent bias. I think that would affect a rating more than anything. I mean, if "Loser McGee" was known to have made a post its one thing, but if he made a post with a 0.20 rating out of 10 votes, it's another.
