After a few months of development, the nearly-the-same REWS is officially official! If your browsers are stupid, you may have to change your bookmarks manually (although the old "rpex" directory will still lead to the new one).
I think all of the kinks are out (Blade knows what I'm talking about ) and the new features should be a-go-go. These include
Author Channel - Back in the day, the top authors of the time (VinnyD, Boyachi, Gobbs, and myself) would control stories from behind the scenes through Instant Messaging. It wasn't a conspiracy or anything -- we just happened to talk about the stories. Well, now that same control is built into the REWS! This allows secret matters to be discussed without ruining the surprise for the uninitiated.
Scratch Pad - This is a nearly worthless feature, but implemented due to rare demand. Whenever a lot of us wanted to write something without locking a story, and we had to move between compies as us college folk do, we would go to create a new story and simply save the text, never post it. Well, you can do that more simply now by simply going to the ACP.
Summaries - This one's suck hard for a while. Every story now has a post-by-post summamation as well as a more concise, overall overview. Not only will it take some time for summaries to be written, but it will probably take some adjusting to get the summary lengths just right. However, this will be a great aid to writers of long stories who don't want to reread the same lengthy things ten times.
I have another idea about setting temporary goals and spots, mostly as a reminder but also for clarifications of the ends of posts. Sometimes, things are left in a certain way to be dramatic, but the next author is simply oblivious.
Anyway, these stories are currently going to receive a push from Reality's End:
High Time (I want something finished!)
Apocalypse Revisited (It can be the next Aftermath if it plays out right)
Nexus (Wanted the push to be bigger, but enthusiasm in it is smaller than expected)
Key of Ages (Just to be the BD connection that always made forum stories go so well.)
I want a lot of emphasis put on Apocalypse. It'll get its own image and slot in the rotations if it can get that fifth addition. All that matters is some creative casting -- it is what made Aftermath so memorable.
But not all of the new stories fared as well. A Lost Time seems like it will be lingering in the Newest Story slot for a while (I wish Apocalypse would have kept that honor) although Mandrake Curse seems to have finally been pushed off its guaranteed front page spot. Maybe someone'll eventually think of something to contribute to those things, but that time is apparently not now.

A Vince-like character would suit AR ...come onnn...plzplzplzplzplzplz... erm...shiny new features = good. AR needs some more new blood to be sacrificed before I or my fellow comrades can instigate another posting.

I actually have conceived the notion of a Vince-like character for use in a random REWS for satire and parody 'gainst AM, but will probably never go through with the plans.
I'll admit that I haven't added to it yet. Much like High Time, which has more pages than adds contributed by me, I thought it a great jump off point for people to warm up to the REWS with. But, also like High Time, I'll probably jump in after some stagnation, which is right about ...

No! No pirate tale! You already made Mark and AR; see at least one of your other stories through before starting another one! The more simultaneous stories we have that use the same pool of authors, the worse off they all are.
