In my current battle against familiar "Joe", I had set it to do Bounce(least, I think I did...). Later on, I look in the log. Apparently all my familiar had done was regular attack. I'm not sure if this is an error holding my commands or if I'm just bungling trying to figure out the new system, but a little assistance would be very nice... - Unix

It could be a number of things gone screwy. This is just the most basic of what could possibly go wrong:
- Did you make sure you clicked on the change AI botton?
- Was it set to custom instead of standard?
- Did you reset it before adding any new commands?
Lair of Mad Goblin - Why be sane? NQH - Meat by-products bent on world domination, anyone?

Ya, I hid the change AI button, and it was set to COmmand, yes. But I didn't Reset it before adding commands. It doesn't matter anyhow, Cheet showed me how to work it. I'm over here at his house, on his new compie, hehehe. It's only dialup, tho. - Unix

It is really hard to have the wrong thing selected since half the fields become disabled when you have one side being used.
All you have to do is remember to look at what is in your command list (to make sure the commands are going in) and then to update AI.
Of course, I would guess a person new to the system could possibly not even know that the commands are supposed to be listed in that text box. Perhaps I should add some safties to it. I did make the thing in a rush

Yah, I was hitting "Add Command", I'd figured out that much at least. But I lost a battle all because the AI system wouldn't do my attacks. Just look at my current log. It was supposed to shell twice, then do bounce five times, the bounce five times again. But it's all simple attacks. And I lost a battle to a critter whose only superiority over me was speed(I think, not to sure about these new stats) because of AI. - Unix

"New" stats? What do you mean by that? Ever since VirtualAve Battling Dragons has had nine status categories -- including Speed. The only thing that has changed since back then is:
- Attacks are used individually, not all at once.
- Elemental effectiveness modifies spells' effectiveness.
- There is now a normal physical attack which creatures can use, not just spells.
- There are more creatures than there was back then. "Oh come on! I'm holding your head!" - Angel

I've been having the same problem, and I think it might just be this new computer I have, since he set his AI from here. (this is the day I showed him how to use the AI system) My last battle did the same thing, with the other guy's attacks working, but mine not. I'm gonna try it again with the AI, and if it doesn't work, I'll tell yas.
Edit: I just did a battle recently, and it did my commands fairly well...accept for the fact that it skipped the "Shell" command I had given as first move of the battle. I think it might be a problem with this computer. I'll have to try a battle from the library, and see if it does the same thing there.

Ya, that's what I've been having problems with. I put Bounce down in the commands box, and it just erases it and does a regular attack instead. I have absolutely no idea why, unless it's just Cheet's comp is screwed up(I'm posting this from his house). Has this kinda thing been happening to other people as well, Kero, or just us two? - Unix

Usually people just are doing something wrong. Try this:
1) Hit Reset. That'll fix everything up if it starts wrong.
2) Select the command you want to add.
3) Select the amount of times you wish for it to be used.
4) Hit Add Command.
5) Repeat.
6) Hit Change AI when finished. Make sure the form goes through.
If that still gives you trouble, then something must be wack on your compy.

Mm-kay. I'll try this one more time, and Unix says he'll do the same if he finds someone he wants to challenge. We'll see if it works right this time. If not, oh well, we can just use the Standard random AI. - Cheetarius Gryffith, Saphire Leader
