MintMan, I don't really understand but, can your pet grow a level in the rpg. My other human character grows levels but the level for my pet nothing happens. When i gain experience it is not kept and my pet is a level 5 not 6. Also Mintman when people battle each other, will there be a way where the human character fights too?

Well you don't understand as you ate too much cookies.
Due to the human char having a good diet of cookies, the ability to save its level is retained, but due to overweightedness, they are too lazy to fight without there familiar. Thus they cannot fight each other like a dragon.

Um, that is because your creature is already an elevated level. Your human character started at level one, thus its changes were apparent.

Okay, try thinking of it this way. There is a race, but your creature has already had a huge head start. If there are check-points along the track, each with an increasing distance compared to the last two, when both character and creature move at the same rate, your character will hit more of those check points before your creature.

I know that creature experience is in fact saved since I've leveled up NightChild that way (I was a few XP until a level-up and I just RPG'd it).

As for character fighting, Hel freakin' no! Too much stuff can happen with them, especially when you consider different RPG plots and their effects on arment. No, only creatures will ever be able to fight.

And Camo, lay of the cookies! No cookies, none whatsoever! None! They aren't even used for any function of BD save the log-in!

Uhh right MintMan. I have no idea what you are talking about but sorry Camo, there are stickybuns in the game but not cookies. I just looked MintMan and went to the rpg, I had 435 exp. I battled a Amphisbaena and got 1 experience, I checked my status and had 436 exp. I moved up to the town so my game would save and when I got to the town I still had 436 exp. and then said to myself, good MintMan was right and when I went out to the Poison Plains I saw that my experience was lowered back down to 435. What is up with that MintMan? (LinkMaster takes out a cookie and eats it)

Ah, that explains it. I had the gold in my inventory when you first came out with the RPG, however, and I didn't have to open any chests. Mayhap you added it after I saved for the first time.

Thats not right.... I leveled up in the RPG and only I leveled to level 2, the dragon is still level 1 (though might be different after this fight).

Aha! That is all I needed. You didn't say before that the experience disappeared only after leaving the Poison Plains and then returning. I was just hopping to Taune City and checking and noticing nothing the matter.

See, the thing is, creatures could level up. Problem is, they're XP wouldn't stay, but their level would. Confusing? It should be. That means that you could only level up if your creature was on the verge of crossing over.

The problem is gone now, tho'. There is a self-correcting procedure in the script to ensure that your creature always has equal to greater XP than the character, so that should self-right most wrongs.

Would it be possible to find out how much Exp is needed for RPG characters to level up? The information is provided for familiars, but not characters. Currently, I'm a L2 Summoner with about 70 exp, and wondering when I hit L3.

There is an XP buffer in the RPG; if you haven't noticed, you get less and less XP for each battle you partake in. Eventually, the enemies will give you no XP.
Not until I get the actual storyline in will enemies rise above level one thus allowing you to level up more.

As for your XP-needed question, Unix, the in-game status display is going to be increased in size to not only include Next Level XP, but also spell explaination as is in the log-in screen.

Also, I've added (in off-line only thus far -- sorry!) the ability to leave targets blank and instantly have the game choose one for you. Thus, typing in something like "pickup" or "open" alone will instantly pick up an object on the screen or open a treasure chest without you having to take the time to specify it.

This is kinda coming from no where but, when I use look on the Idol, nothing happens and a little JavaScript error icon appears at the bottom of my browser. It claims character 3 of line 1559 is invalid. I don't think this is really important but I thought you might want to check it out. Just in case.

Think about it -- if a giant monster were wandering around the place, would it be carrying gold on it? And if so, where at?

No, there will never be any random enemies dropping gold in the BD RPG. A lair might have some treasure chests in it, or staged fights might grant gold, but never random enemies. I want funds in the BD RPG to be finite as to avoid the folly of other RPGs.

I've got a typo to report...
When you go to the idol, it says "Most of the torso is buried underground, but the to half juts out on a left-bent angle."

  Shouldn't that be 'top half'?

Oh, right. I only ever fixed that typo in the off-line version.... like fifty times. Yet I never get the mind about me to change the on-line one.... huh.

Man, the off-line script right now rocks so much. Status displays are expanded to near the quality of log-in spell explanation, and magic point consumption is listed next to attacks. Plus, there is a third combo box to select things from for commands such as Use, and it only appears when it is actually needed.
Too bad I have to run a kill-script before I can get it up. Lousy killing...

MintMan, I think you made this thing way too confusing for everybody.

I mean, wouldn't it be blutty simpler if you could just select a NEW familiar, JUST for the RPG? I mean, quit sticking to the facts! And my thing says: LV14 Kamaitachi Pup \n HP: 82, which just proves that you are making it way too complicated.

  ------------
As to Six_Grey, who challenged me...En garde! Mmm, mushroom. Forget the cookies, go eat some Ultra Shrooms!! Hmm, now that I think about it....darnit, I forgot what the ultimate item in Paper Mario is....oh wait. Ultra Jelly. Mmm...jelly...

I have a BDRPG question. Will the trainers, erm, tamers ever have elements? If so, will those be elements like those pertaining to the types, or can we choose our elements? I personally like Light and Fire...you can put people on fire and say that you did it in the name of justice.

New familiar just for the RPG? Hel no! That would make so little sense.

I made the RPG so that people would have a way of leveling up their familiars out of battle. That was a huge complaint back in the day and currently still is.
I mean, if I wanted a game absolved from actual BD accounts, I wouldn't have made the RPG based on BD in anyway. That would have been much easier than what I'm doing, actually.

And no, your character always keeps the same element: humanoid. You can choose which scrolls to use, but nothing beyond that. Just try specializing in fire and light scrolls -- that's all.

And, um, I just wanna check... does that escaped newline character actually appear in between the class of the creature and its Health, or did you just provide it?

The newline does not appear there. I added it because I'm lazy.

HA! Who's the master of laziness now? Errm....*notices MintMan asleep*

Fire/Light scrolls? Hmm, interesting. And no, light is by far the best element...but I think that a FireWhip would look kewler than IceWhip, would it now?

If any of you played Majora's Mask, Ice Arrow has no usage whatsoever, other than that to freeze waterfalls and let you beat the Great Bay Temple, which is a pain in the rear after Stone Tower Temple.

  -----------
Ah, yes. As always, after a miraculous victory, I have come to yet again cross swords with my recurring enemy of Battling Dragons...Evenfall. Like, I have two words to say to you: En garde! Wait, we cross creatures, not swords. Well anyway.

  EDIT:
Evenfall, I demand a rematch. For crying out loud, I have 82 Agility, and I can't evade a single shot of yours!! I mean come on, Six_Grey Gyre-and-Gimbled me three times, two times of which I evaded.....is your Strike really so high?

Hmm... *plans on casting five KnockDowns, to get 6 shots for every one of Fallen's*
