When the bugs are worked out for Battling Dragons on the rpg version will we still have the same monsters at the same level with all their techniques and will we get experience that will be used for both the rpg and battling other people?

Yes I wanted to know this too. Will we have to train a hole new monster?

Don't I have all this explained in about a thousand other places? Oh well, here it goes again....

The creatures you have in the RPG are exactly like how the Beta version works: same creature but the level of your character. Your character starts at level one (duh) and gains XP in the RPG as does your creature. Your creature can still gain XP from battling other familiars; it can grow both ways. However, the RPG is only designed to raise a creature from levels one to twenty-five, so some battling is of course required.

Thanks MintMan. I am sorry I didn't look myself. I really didn't want the information anyway. It was my older brother Paul_T_Great who is only signed up for R.E. League who wanted it. He was going to wait to sign up and I was trying to persuade him and he is really the one who wanted to ask that question but he was too lazy to sign up in the forums. I think I'll sign him up now in the Battling Dragons and Forums right now.

P.S. A little guilt-I was really the one using my little brother's account Kirby3000 to write the reply before yours. Sorry, but I needed a way to put my forum at top so you would notice it. Whew. That's off my chest. I'm not actually sure what I think while I'm writing this. I guess that you could probably tell that I was writing it.

Also when your creature is in a battle online will you still be able to level up in the RPG?

Hey MintMan, there's a slight problem with your beta RPG.

You see here, some time ago, I opened the beta version. FoxMcBlur was like at level 8 that time. Well, guess what? Even though all the stats were of level 1, FoxMcBlur knew the Gash ability. And also, when you choose Status, it shows "FoxMcBlur, Level 9 Kamaitachi Pup" but then shows level 1 stats below. You might want to use this information.

Wow, LE. You ain't pay much attention, are you? Your creature stays exactly the same as to how you have trained it.... EXACTLY! I could waltz into the RPG with a Nidhogg Drake with all of its spells and five boosts, but it would still be level one.

You retain all spells and form and boosts. I said you keep your current creature to the 'T'. That is your current creature; you fight with your current creature.

Post pumping? You fool, Link Master. See those shiny little dates at the side? I read all posts I haven't read yet. I'm the web master. I look for the last post I read and go up from there. I wouldn't just say "Oh look at that post; its two items down the list so I won't read it."
Bad monkey! Bad bad bad little monkey! How dare you post pump. I forbade double-replying for just that reason.

Okay, when you are in the RPG, you will be able to level up your creature in RPG terms. That means that if your character goes up, your creature will go up because there RPG levels are always the same. However, its current, real battle XP will be frozen until its current battle ends, in which case the back-logged XP comes back to it. Even if the creature is just waiting for a challenge this will occur.

You can never gain experience while fighting or challenged. It is necessary to ensure that something doesn't come to an extreme power after a challenge is made.

Um, I wouldn't exepct it to work. It's a test version. You can't accomplish anything worth saving. Nothing you accomplish in there is... wait, you can't accomplish anything in there. So, it's as simple as that. Nothing to do, nothing to save. It's just suppose to give you the feel of the RPG, it's not like it actually is the game. Phew, if I reitterate myself anymore, I'm gonna start getting sick

Ewuy2, the same thing happens for me, but hey, it's only a beta test version. Don't expect much to be on there yet. If a lot is on, MM might as well just officially place the RPG on the site then.

Oh goody, it's up (sorta)and running, and not working on my computor. Whenever I click to go south into the Poison Plaines it thanks me for playing and brings me back to the Battling Dragon main page. Figures that my computor probably won't be able to work with the RPG.

Thank your lucky something-or-others it did that (a debugging frag I forgot to purge Thanks for reporting it). I just found out that saving info on the BD RPG = murder to account information. I lost my valour and everything! I think it was seventy... I can't remember how much over that it was....

Okay, here is how the BD RPG works (I've explained this before, but that was like a year ago or something, so I doubt anyone remembers or was even there).
There are (will be, *cough*) twenty-four seperate story lines which exist for Battling Dragons -- one for each rune in the Futhark/Viking alphabet and a twenty-fifth null adventure fashioned more after MUDs (no story line; just runnin' around the place doin' stuff). You play the null adventure whenever you wish (usually at start-up since most of the enemies are level one in it). It has to exist largely because non-RPG-wanna-players need means to train their creature (the training game is going bye-bye). This adventure, unfortunately, will be all there is to BD for quite some time, so I shall prolly run some sort of special in which I increase its size every week (by a substantial amount; not just one room or something stupid like that) while I get up the first adventure, Battling Dragons: Fehu. After BD:Fehu gets remotely started, I can switch it up for play and just have people play the game to the fullest extent of completion.

Okay, things right now with the RPG that suck: you can get XP, but the RPG won't actually level you up, and training in-RPG currently doesn't work. Technically, my winter break isn't over yet, so I still have until Sunday to get a large part of work done (and I'll be doing a lots of it that day). I am going to actually make the city and more than the Poison Plains by then, so don't worry.

I was in the RPG and clicked save game (to make sure it finally worked for me!) and it came up with a message reading
"Welcome to the Battling Dragons RPG Âeta Tester, DracoSci. This example demonstrates basic play in the up-coming game. Of course, this shows only the gyst of things. The actual play will be in-depth with story lines, treasure hunting, and puzzles." and a continue button. So far so good.
So I click on the Continue button, and it reloads this screen. So I decide to go back using the sidebar link. BUt when I try to enter the RPG through the sign-in, I just get the message again! What's going on???

Oh, right. The Save function was added for before it was actually an RPG. Now, it just saves whenever the screen transits. I've got to make mention of that somewheres.... I can't just have people save it wherever since your exact location is in no way stored.

HaHaha! Looks like Minty has got alot of work! There are so many complications, and so little time to fix them. Poor MintMan. I'll help out by not playing it. That way I can't possibly mess it up! Wow, it sure looks like I missed out on a ton of fun in just one week!

Noooo! Not playing is a very, very bad thing. If no one plays it, how can I debug it?

Technically, no one can break the RPG. The RPG could break you, but I guarantee it cannot affect your creature in any way (I have creature data saved early on in the script so that anything that goes on in it cannot hurt it).

Anywho, I've added training in-RPG and even fixed it to not suck! Right now, it is actually over-powered training, so Ashy, get trainin' now in RPG because it takes about three castings or so to master a spell!
I also have some weapons... but they are weak and sucky so you prolly shouldn't care much for 'em. Equipment in BD never plays much of a role, but it doesn't start to get good until later.

Oi, Kero. Whenever I try to go back into Taune city after leaving it, it says "Please do not refresh or go back while playing the BD RPG." I wasn't refreshing, and I wasn't hitting the back buttn, so what the heck did I do wrong?

It happened to me too. It's probably because when the screen transits, it saves, so that screen pops up. However, it doesn't always do that to me, so it's ok.

BD uses a timer safety much like the R.E. League to prevent the reloading of pages. A variable is passed in guise of a hidden form element. It could be being mis-set for your or your hosts could be messing with the data transfer.

I don't know what to suspect here since no one else has reported such a problem. I see that your account, Cheet, has no record of a safety being recorded in it, meaning whatever is happening must be happening early.

I'll try my best to find out what's wrong on this currently limited data.
