How does the Bunyip from Australian Mythology sound? It's suppposedly like a giant seal, but lives in lakes. I've only heard a bit on it, but I could study up on it if MintMan approves. I've already got some ideas for attacks, and I'll gladly e-mail a few bitmaps for it's attacks and phases. Of course, someone would have to do the JPEGs for it, but I have a kick butt design for it, and we could keep pretty close to that.

Uh, sounds good, but isn't the Bunyip supposed to be a frog?
I mean, everything I've read said that it was some sort of amphibian.
*checks his mythology book*
Huh, it doesn't say frog or seal. In fact, it just says their monstrous things with claws. Lousy book! *smacks*
Well, I'm always open for monsters, and I don't really care where they come from so long as some sort of myth or legend supports them. Send on over the pic! I can JPEG up for yas if it meets all requirements.

OK! It'll take me a while to bitmap a good pic (lousy program), but I will post the attacks for the first phase.
Bunyip Pup
Dive:
MP: (I don't know your system, post the damage formula and I'll give the damages & MP)
Effect: Causes some damage to enemy, 1/16 chance of dodging enemies next attack.
and if it needs a second one:
Confounding Mud: lowers enemies agility by 1/8
The bunyip would be a highly defensive monster, with a low speed and/or attack. I'm not to good with stats, but I'll try to work on them.

Wow, do you even play Battling Dragons?
After having to deal with the Gryphon, I've decided to ask that potential submitters at least know something of the game.
A creature needs three spells for each of its forms (saving a inept form, like an egg, if it has one, which only requires two spells).
Moreover, percentages are used instead of fractions, usually in the amount of 20%, 25%, or 35% (one-eight, 12.5%, is near worthless).
Moreover, an instant dodge chance does not exist; such an attack would simply raise agility.
And from what I've been reading, the Bunyip would possess at least one spell that was some sort of flood as I do believe that was one of their specialties.

OK, thanks, I'll change it a lot. I haven't ever gone above level 1, so I haven't really played the game that much.
Dive
15 power physical hit
Confounding Mud: Decreases enemy agility by 20%
Flood: Decreases enemy agility by 15%, 10 power magic hit

Wow, this is sounding awesome. Pardon my intrusion, but if Flood will be the Bunyip's 3rd attack on first stage, may I suggest a 20-power magic attack instead of a 10? As much as it would hold true for the creature to keep mostly defensive, it will eventually get clobbered with such low offenses.
While this definitely seems to be a creature more geared for advanced players who know how to map a strategy, it may be appreciated if the stats were balanced out a little more. Just my two cents, you can ignore me if you like.

Yes. There is no way something is going to have a ten power magic attack (save an extreme circumstance in which something else also occured with it). I would think Flood to be a straight 20 power spell without any side effects while we're on the subject.
And Gobbo here did make a post and failing DSL prohibited to go through, so I shall go over some important issues he brought up. Is the Bunyip a humanoid creature? I always thought it to be a little frog thing, but never a humanoid. If it is, that could really muss things up.
And before you get too caught up in making up spells for the little guy, hows about sending over some art? That is one of the biggest requirements. Not only does your picture have to be well drawn, but it must also be of decent quality and match to some extent the other pictures.
Only then can I inform you on the other tasks to undergo in making this creature for BD.

Disconnection prevented me from saying it before, so I'll say it now: "Woo-hoo! More monsters! Good for you, Lee. Hope you make the cute."
Anyhoo, being curious about this beast myself, I decided to do a little digging on my own. First, any connections with frog-men probably came from the story of Frog-Man and the Bunyips, an apparent popular Aborigi... whatever tale. Second, the Bunyip is humanoid. Also, it is not. It's appearence is about as fickled as a strumpet. Aside from being said to be beaked, finned, winged, or equiped with possibly more, he's some more solid description:
"Some say the bunyip looks like a huge snake with a beard and a mane; others say it looks like a huge furry half-human beast with a long neck and a head like a bird."
Also, you can find a real neat pic of one here. It's just plain cool lookin'! Lair of Mad Goblin - Home Lost Soul, a far from average Pocket Monster Fanatic Fiction, and my personal brand of home grown insanity...
Not Quite Heroes - On-line comic that's everything but normal. Everything from diabolical meat by-products to men comprised of mayo jar...

Bunyp So now Australia is being brought into the whole thing. Well I have never seen one, but in most of the merchandise I seen at places around the Eastern side of Australia, the bastard looks like a gian see dragon thing... like an eel body with large spikes all over it, the head is pretty much like a giant humanoid monster thingy with a massive frill and the mouth looks as though it has cancer.

I'm not even into mythology at all. I joined Battling Dragons because you see, the Warped Gym says, "If you are from Reality's End, welcome". So I clicked on the link to Reality's End, and thought that it was BD that he was talking about (my knowledge of Pokemon could neatly fit on a postage stamp back then). I signed up, understand that I...uhh...did the wrong thing. But then I realized the fun of the whole deal and accepted it, and also joined the RE League with a moderately successful team (0.5 / 100 stars)LieutenantEagle
