I just had another BD battle, and it only used its spell again. Something must be wrong, because I only told it to use moonstruck once. It didn't listen. *SailorSassyStar scolds Artimis, her dewdrop.* I had this problem before, didn't I? I'm just so lucky If there is something wrong, it's probably my fault.

I set Fallen's AI to have him use Horn only once, and it automatically has him use Horn every turn. I'm not sure what twice through five times is supposed to do (better chance of critical hits, potential multiple hits, make people who think they can give their familiar superpowers mess up?), but from my experience, you have to manually set the AI to attack to have your familiar attack without magic.
If you think about it, if the AI only had Artimis literally use MoonStruck once, she'd be stalling after she used it, and she'd be a sitting duck. If you want to use MoonStruck, perhaps using the Automatic attack setting would work. It gives you a chance to physically attack as well.
It might be best to set Artimis on manual attack anyway, because a confused opponant doesn't always hit itself, which may be a bad thing if your opponant has a spell like Bounce, Horn, DewShot (which isn't going to be so effective on Artimis anyway...), etc. which could do physical damage to Artimis.
What am I doing? Helping out people I'm going to end up battling later... Anyway, does anyone know if Akira's still active? I'd like to battle her and Hoshikuzu.

Thanks for the challenge and advice, but I think that I messed something up. A long time agao when I was new at BD I was so impatiant that I kept checking the battle progress and when I saw that nothing had happened, I told Artimis to use use moonstruck again. Maybe it is just a carry over from that, but I don't think so. I had this problem before. Last time, after MM thought that he had it fixed, Artimis wouldn't use magic at all. I don't know what is wrong, and I seem to be pretty much the only person with this problem, so I've come to the conclusion that I have yet again accomplished messing something up with out doing anything wrong. If you don't already know, I have a bad record of messing things up without doing anything to make it happen. Now you do know.If there is something wrong, it's probably my fault.

I guess the help file doesn't explain this too fully and it really should, so here is the low-down on AI and Command setting:
Automatic AI is quite literally just random actions. There is no rhymn or reason behind it because I have not yet scripted one (and I really should).
When you select Command, you will use the selected attack a certain number of times (which you choose; up to five). When the selected number of attacks is used, your creature will revert to Automatic AI.
So, you aren't just non-stop using Moon Struck. You are just getting a really bad flip-of-the-coin. My recommendation? I should really fix it so that you can choose at least two sets of commands back-to-back. I mean, come on. That'd really be helpful.
In the meantime, however, just check-up on your battle progress a little more frequent. Set yourself to use a status-inflicting spell once and get back as soon as the enemy is confused to set yourself up for five attacks.
Hmmm, maybe I could get on that multiple AI thing pretty soon. I am working on the battle script to get the Basilisk's new poison effect in, after all....

That could have alot to do with it. I do check often, just not at the right times. I check practically 10 a day during battles and nothing hardly ever happens. Then when I come back later the whole thing is over. About the random chancing on AI, lets not go there. Thanks for the explaination. I know you have alot to do as it is, but I still manage to find more stuff for you to work on. Oh so lucky Oh, yah. I found something that I find rather unusual while searching BDs. I found a level 4 dewdrop that hadn't been in any battles! I don't think it was just a fluke, because I saw another level for dewdrop that hadn't been in any battles! Unless, they've been in battles and it just doesn't show that they did, but I just find this a bit out of the ordinary. Then again...unordinary is ordinary for me, so nevermind.

.... so? My Entropy is level thirty-nine and I've only been in fifteen battles. Most of the level-ups come from web site views for some people (such as the owner of that Hrimfaxi and I). There is nothing unusual about that at all.
As for stuff not happening then happing all at once in a battle, that is simply because creature's don't act non-stop. They act on an average of every six hours. In between that time, strengths build up from web page views.
Well, I guess I was unfair. They don't act every six hours. That is a very rough average. The creature's must actually be viewed in order for actions to be processed. That's the reason at least one web-site owner is required for a battle to take place. That was an old system I had no choice in devising. I suppose I could hook up a regular maintainance thing with Cron, but that would just creature more battle problems.

I forgot about page view level ups. That explains alot. I really need to get a site that isn't so crappy. Other than expage, I haven't found any places that are free, without asking you everything about your life, and let people under 13 use them. Only 7 more days! *cough* I see that you've changed the way that you can choose attacks. Thank you lotz! Now I shouldn't loose, or at least not as badly. HEY! This is soo cool now that I'm actually haveing a battle that I can command. *JOY* *SailorSassyStar is to happy for her own good* The dumb opponent keeps attacking its self! It used blur and Artimis is the one that got its speed increase! (the was for them ) Oh yah. At this rate I'll be up the charts in no time flat. Thankies again MM Don't you just love happy endings? Of course you do!
Oh, yah. One more thing. Has there ever before been such a smiley loaded post? I just had to ask Ok, another problem. The BD ranking now only shows the first page. I know very well that I'm not on that first page and I want to see how much I moved up after winning that last battle.
