I don't know what confusion does, but I want to know in case I have to deal with it. What does it do, and is it very effective?

It makes you go "Hey, I'm confused, where am I?" then you spin around in circles searching for treasure. Frenzal Rhomb - The greatest band ever THE SHINY THINGS - My webby, come join the forum, its not incredibly absene or nothing, no way!

When inflicted with confusion, a familiar will lose the ability to chose the target of its spell half of the time. The target will instead be chosen at random.
Simply put, in web battles, you have a 25% chance of using a spell on yourself.
Confusion will not be around for much longer. When Hrimfaxi is redone, no creatures will have it probably ever again. I think it is for the better; confusion always turns out to be either too good or do absolutely nothing at all.

Is it just for spells, or regular attacks too?

Well.... everything. I guess I should not have said spell. It is just that normal attacks are used so rarely (later on), and I wanted to stress that even self-inflicting supplemental spells can change target.
Okay, anything you do has a 25% chance of being used on the person you had not intended it for. Happy

Well, that would be annoying sometimes if it worked. Like decreasing your own stats and boosting your enemies'.
