At certain times in one's Battling Dragons career, one may come in possession of a powerful relic. These relics may be used during any battle to alter its outcome in some way.
If you possess a relic, you will be given the opportunity to use it before combat begins at the same screen you set your grid. Only one relic may be used per battle. After the battle, you will lose the relic you had just used, whether or not you had made good use of it.
- Aegis
- The Aegis is popularly the shield of the chief Greek god, Zeus, and is his symbol along with the lightning bolt. It was, in fact, used by his daughter Athena instead, to whom it was entrusted. The shield itself seems like nothing special; its make is of stretched goat-skin. The goat it came from, however, is something quite extraordinary. Amalthea was the goat that nursed Zeus after he had exhausted his nymph wetnurses while an infant in hiding from his cannibalistic father, Cronos. Amalthea was later honored by becoming the constellation Capricorn. Its horns became the cornucopia and its skin the Aegis.
Although goat-skin is not the most protective material in the world, it comes from a very caring and nurturing creature. While behind the Aegis, a monster need not fear critical damage for the damage is greatly lessened.
- Berserker
- In old Norse tradition, there are tales of warriors who fought wearing nothing but a bear's skin. They would howl and stamp and gnaw their shields, working themselves into a frenzy. In battle, they fought like the animal whose skin they wore. By some accounts, they actually transformed into these animals. While in this rage, the berserker would attack anything and everything: friend, foe, and inanimate objects.
A familiar using this relic in a battle will be given a Bestial tech, depending on where in the grid it is slotted. If the wielder has the Bestial element, all techniques in the bar Berserk is slotted in become Bestial elemental as well.

- Brok's Smithy
- How an entire smithy is transported into battle I cannot say. What I can say is that it was Brok, the dwarfish smith, who was the foremost of blacksmiths in Norse legend. Pitted in a craftmanship contest by Loki's boasting, Brok and his brother Eitri forged three of the greatest objects in all existance -- Draupnir the multiplying armband, Gullinbursti the golden boar, and Thor's hammer Mjolnir. It was the last of these items that tipped the gods' favor toward proclaiming Brok the greatest of all blacksmiths.
With Brok's smithy at your disposal, you can craft wonderous things. When used, the enemy's relics will be copied and placed into your inventory for future use. Should Brok's smithy be used when the enemy has no relics in use, the smithy will not be used nor lost. You Brok's smithy cannot forge another smithy.
- Draconce
- The source of a dragon's power, whether eastern or western, came from a small jewel kept on or inside of its head. Alchemist sought this jewel greatly for its power, which was only good for potions when fresh...
A familiar using this relic in a battle will be given a Draconic tech, depending on where in the grid it is slotted. If the wielder is a Dragon, all techniques in the bar Draconce is slotted in become Draconic elemental as well.

- Emerald Scepter
- Few tales can compare in scope or inconsistancy to that of Prester John. By most accounts, he was a Christian priest-king in the east, ruling over several kings and a kingdom without poverty, crime, or sinners. Also in his great kingdom were several wonders and mythical beasts, such as the Fountain of Youth, the Garden of Eden, Unicorns, and giant ants that dug gold. As a symbol of his kingdom's wealth, he carried with him a scepter made out of one, solid piece of pure emerald.
Fitting to the outlandish story it comes from, the Emerald Scepter has absolutely no effect in battle. It can be used, but does nothing after that. It will count as a relic used during battle and will vanish after the fight.
- Gungnir
- The All-Father Odin, chief of the Æsir, possessed a magical spear that, when thrown, would never miss its opponent.
If a familiar is given Gungnir, it will never miss in battle. Rather, when the creature would normally miss, it will barely make contact with its foe, doing one-quarter of the damage instead of none at all. All other extra effects of the tech will not occur.
- Kunee
- Aidos Kunee, the dog-skin cap of darkness was bestowed upon Hades by the Cyclopes during their fight against the Titans for Olympus. The wearer became entirely invisible to both mortal and immortal, often by the means of spilling forth darkness as it was donned.
A familiar using this relic in a battle will be given a Darkness tech, depending on where in the grid it is slotted. If the wielder has the Dark element, all techniques in the bar Kunee is slotted in become Dark elemental as well.

- Looking Glass
- Mirrors, or Looking Glasses, serve a variety of uses in legend. They could be used to avert the power of evil gazes such as the Gorgons' or the cockatrices', or even take you to a strange, new world as Lewis Carroll showed us in Alice's further adventures.
While holding the Looking Glass, the first statistic modification made by the opponent will be caught. Negative modifiers will be reflected to the original user, and bonuses will be shared.
- Mjolnir
- The mighty thunder-god Thor was given a gift by the greatest dwarfish smiths, Brok. Although Loki's trickery left it with a short handle, the mighty hammer Mjolnir means certain death to all those who oppose the Aesir. With such force is it thrown that Thor wears an iron mitt to protect his hand from its extreme heat.
A familiar using this relic in a battle will be given a Thunder tech, depending on where in the grid it is slotted. If the wielder has the Thunder element, all techniques in the bar Mjolnir is slotted in become Thunder elemental as well.

- Ophiuchus
- The great physician Asclepius, later a Greek healer god. He was death-born from his mother on her funeral pyre. Appolo gave the child to the centaur Chiron, mentor to many heroes, from whom he learned all things of medicine. Asclepius became such as accomplished medicine maker that he could resurrect the dead, an act Zeus looked upon with great distain. This cost the doctor his life, although he was repayed in the typical celestial manner -- transformation into a Constellation, in this case, Ophiuchus, the serpent-bearer.
His symbol, as is the symbol of the medical profession today, is a wooden staff entwined by a single serpent. This is not to be confused with the Caduceus, the staff of Hermes, which was often pictured with two serpents.
A familiar using this relic in a battle will be given a Serpentine tech, depending on where in the grid it is slotted. If the wielder has the Serpentine element, all techniques in the bar Ophiuchus is slotted in become Serpentine elemental as well.

- Rood
- Few relics in all Christiandom are as sacred or more revered than the true crucifix. It was told that Constantine, the first Christian emperor of Rome, had nails from the original Rood set into his armor, thus making him invincible.
A familiar using this relic in a battle will be given a Light tech, depending on where in the grid it is slotted. If the wielder has the Light element, all techniques in the bar Rood is slotted in become Light elemental as well.

- Talisman
- Several amulets and charms were used throughout every culture to bring luck or ward away evil.
When wearing a Talisman, enemy spells and techniques slotted in the same bar that the bearer has slotted the Talisman will be fifteen percent less effective. That is, if an enemy uses a a tech from its Magic bar, it will only be eighty-five percent as effective against a Talisman bearer if the Talisman is slotted in the Magic bar as well.
- Trident
- The Cyclopes, aligned with the Greek gods in the war against the Titans, forged three powerful weapons for the three brother gods: Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon. The god of sea received the Trident, a three-pronged fishing spear. With it, he could strike the ground, splitting the sea floor and causing earthquakes, sea storms, and other maritime mayhem.
A familiar using this relic in a battle will be given a Water tech, depending on where in the grid it is slotted. If the wielder has the Water element, all techniques in the bar Trident is slotted in become Water elemental as well.
