What can I do with a Battling Dragons account? With a BD account, you can participate in Web Battles, join tournaments against groups of foes, vote in the Bestiary, post yourself on the Battle Board, and get your battle skills ranked against other members.
Most importantly, you get to show off how powerful a monster you have been able to raise, especially if you have a web site to display it on.
How do I change my account name? Quite simple: you can't. Games on Reality's End have a tendacy to drop account names throughout a number of files across the site. If you really want to get your account name changed, you will have to contact the web master.
How do I change my password? You can change your password by logging into your account on the Battling Dragons main page. Once inside of your account, click on the Edit Account Info tab. You will see two fields which you must put your new password into in order to change it.
How do I change my e-mail address? You can change your e-mail address by logging into your account on the Battling Dragons main page. Once inside of your account, click on the Edit Account Info tab. You will see a field that allows you to change your e-mail address. Once you submit the form, a confirmation e-mail will be sent to this new address to ensure that it does in fact exist. Follow the instructions in the e-mail to confirm your account.
How do I change my web site URL?
I did not have a web site when I signed up, but now I do. How do I include it in my account?
You can change your web site URL by logging into your account on the Battling Dragons main page. Once inside of your account, click on the Edit Account Info tab. You will see a field that allows you to change your web site URL.
If you do not have a web site, leave this field blank. Do not put something stupid like "don't have one" in it. Doing so tricks Battling Dragons into thinking that you in fact do have a web site, which could end up to your disadvantage in Web Battles. The reason is because only when both players have (or when BD believes both players have) a web site do hits from their respective web sites increase a familiar's battle strength; if you have no site, then you will always get left behind!
What does my rank mean? Quite frankly, it means nothing. It does not effect game play in any way. It is just to give you an idea of who are the best players as of right now. Ranks are calculated by no one thing: level, win ratio, and your plain number of wins all are taken into consideration for makings your rank.
The "points" you see do not really mean anything. They are simply the calculated total for how the rankings are done. They are not stored anywhere, and you cannot try to earn more by winning more battles. They simply exist. Do not look too much into them.
How can I adopt multiple familiars? First, let me say the way not to adopt multiple familiars is by opening multiple accounts. This is considered cheating and all accounts will be removed.
To legally adopt a second familiar, you need only raise your first monster's level to fifteen.
In order to gain three or more familiars, the requirements increase. All of your familiars must be raised to half of the maximum level. This means level twenty-five. One familiar need not meet this requirement and only needs to be higher than level twenty. It does not matter which of your familiars this is.
B-Monsters do not count against you for adoptable multiple familiars.
How do I change which monster will be displayed when I first log in? If you have more than one familiar, you may choose which one will first be displayed when you log-in. This monster is your currently active monster. It will be displayed in the rankings and on your web site, if you have the code fragment placed there. To switch to another monster, log in to your account. View the creature you want to become your currently active monster. In the sub-table to the side, you will see a tab to switch that familiar to your active monster. Click it, and you will receive a success message.
You can switch your active familiar at any time.
How do I erase my account? In order to clear your account and start all over again, you must first wait until all current battles and challenges are done with. Cancel them, if possible.
Next, log-in to your account and click the tab marked Clear Account. This will bring you to a screen much like at sign-up where you may choose a new creature to start with, again at level one. All experience, wins, and losses will be forgotten.
There is no way to completely erase all account data. Games on Reality's End have a tendacy to drop account names through a variety of files on the site. If one account were to disappear, results could be disasterous. If you no longer wish to play Battling Dragons, just go away. A dormant account will not hurt anyone. These things are usually cleared after five years, when it is fairly certain that the owner is never coming back.
How come not all types of monsters can be adopted?
What are Bonus Monsters / B-Monsters / Tourney-Only Monsters?
How do I adopt a B-Monster
Bonus Monsters are species which cannot be adopted normally. They cannot participate in Web Battles, only Tournaments. A species is considered a B-Monster species when it does not have pictures for its spells as adoptable monsters do.
A monster can be a B-Monster for several reasons, usually because it is poorly described in tales or just not that interesting. They typically have a limited tech selection and often less than three spells. Some B-Monsters only have one form (that is, they cannot grow).
If an artist ever completes a B-Monster species, any owner will have the option of promoting it to a full-fledged familiar, capable of participating in normal Web Battles. A creature is considered complete when it has at least two forms, three spells, and an image for every form.
Any account with a familiar that is at least level five can adopt a Bonus Monster. Having multiple monsters that are level five or one monster that is level ten or fifteen does not entitle an account to any more than one. B-Monsters are also attainable through special events at Reality's End.
Their primary use is as a partner during tag team fights.
