The Snake, Latin Serpens, was a common symbol of evil, universal throughout medieval Europe. However, the British Isles are native to no species of snake. This did not stop the artists of bestiaries from trying! Snakes were sometimes represented as bland, generic mammals, complete with four legs. The descriptions still stated that snakes walk with hidden steps, but failed to mention to the artist that snakes have no legs. Future Development: This was really made as a joke, so there is little chance that extra stages will be added to the snake, or at least this snake.
