In Myth:
 Lou Carcolh was a very rare mollusk monster in French tradition. Although it was also described as serpentine, it possessed both a shell and tentacles, characteristics of snails and squids. It oozed a sticky slime, which covered its enormous body and dripped from its mass of hairy tendrils.
The monster resided beneath Hastingue, a town in the Les Landes region of southwestern France or, alternately, Belgium, which would be quite the opposite. Its vast size was contained underground in a cavern. It surveyed the miles around its lair with its long reaching tentacles, stretching them out in a sticky, sensory web. Any living thing which failed to notice the telltale slime-drenched ground that marked its presence would surely be ensnared by the Lou Carcolh, dragged down into its cave, and swallowed whole.
The meaning of this monster's name is uncertain. It seems to have vague connections with generic sea monsters. It is perhaps one of the most informationally scarce monsters in existance.
