Hai Riyo | ||
|
The Hai Riyo has the body and claws of a bird, but the head of a ryu -- a dragon. Despite what comical imagery this combination may bring to mind, this was considered the highest form a dragon could attain. Before attaining this ultimate state, the Hai Ryu had to progress through the normal life-cycle of a Ryu. Wings are rare among Oriental dragons. Many believe Hai Riyo to be derived from Ying Lung, the only winged Chinese dragon. Future Development: If the Hai Riyo is developed more, it will take on more of a role to fill the holes in the life-cycle that the Ryu did not meet. Battling Dragons only allows up to three stages (comfortably), and in the Japanese life-cycle of a dragon, there are very many more. However, chances are that the Tatsu will eventually peform this role and the Hai Riyo will remain the chicken-dragon it is right now. I doubt anyone will adopt a dragon familiar with the hopes of getting something like this, anyway. So unexpected and unusual is a chicken-dragon that the adopter should get it up front.
