Emela Ntouka | ||
|
Emela Ntouka belongs to a class of monsters collectively gathered under the label Mokele-Mbembe, "Blocker of the River," although each of these monsters is different. Their only link is that they are all presumed to exist in real life and to be living dinosaurs. That, however, is a matter of fact and science, which does not concern Battling Dragons. Our only concern is the folklore... Emela Ntouka is an elephant killer (although its name means "Water Elephant" and it is sometimes even described as one). It attacks and skewers its enemies with a horn growing from out its head. Emela's body was heavy with stumpy legs and about the size of an elephant. It has a long, scaly tail like that of a crocodile. Emela Ntouka was amphibious, and would often attack ships (as any monster in the water is required to do). This monster's behavior is very similar to that of the Karkadan, which would stab elephants with its one horn. Only the reptilian and amphibious description varies. Future Development: A younger, more rhinoceros-like form has been planned for EN's younger stage. It will never have any tendancy toward any of its dinosaur forms as the cryptozoological focus makes it less fit in this mythological game.
