In Myth:
A disgusting, fetid creature that inhabited the swamps, the Catoblepas had the head of a boar at the end of a long, extended neck that extended from its stocky, hybrid body. So heavy was its head that it stared at the ground, which was quite fortunate, for anyone who looked into its pink, blood-stained eyes would instantly perish.
The Catoblepas was later called the Gorgon, and in this form, it lost its long neck and gained a strong, bristled hide.
