Amphisbaena | ||
|
This mythical serpent had a head at each end of its body. Its name quite literally means "goes both ways", refering to its ability to move in either direction. A prefered method of movement for the Amphisbaena was to bite its opposite end and form a hoop, allowing it to roll. The eyes of the Amphisbaena are said to glow like candles. It holds a rather potent venom in its fangs and is capable of striking twice at the same time. If the Amphisbaena is ever to be severed, it may reattach itself. It was also renown for several curative properties and protections for pregnancy. The Amphisbaena is called the Mother of Ants due to its habit of feeding on them.
