Alcyoneus was the name of an enormous donkey in the mythologies of Greece and Rome. It was supposedly a manifestation of the wind Sirocco. Alcyoneus was a very destructive monster. Alcyoneus was also the name of one of the Gigantes. The name Alcyoneus means "The Brayer".
